Fly to New York from £858 return

La Compagnie, the all business class airline, have started Black Friday early with their Blue Friday deal. You will need to act quickly as the deal expires on 26 November. You can fly from New York to Paris for $1000 return or Paris to New York for €1000 which is around £858. Yes, you have to get to Paris, but it is cheap and easy to get to Paris. It is worth noting that they fly from Paris Orly rather than Charles de Gaulle. However, Paris is also a good place for a night stop. From the centre of Paris, it took me around 25 minutes to get to Orly. There are no specified travel dates for the promotion but they are clearly marked on the calendar and I can see plenty for next year.

La Compagnie seat

I flew La Compagnie only last week and for the price, I thought it was a really enjoyable experience. They are using brand new A321LR aircraft with seats in a 2-2 configuration. The Wi-fi was free and the best I have used on an aircraft. The food was also good and the drinks not exciting but acceptable. I loved the new amenity kits too (look out for the giveaway). I will be doing a full review next weekend, but overall at this price, it is a fun experience on this boutique airline.

You can find more information on the offer on this page for starting in Paris and this one for New York. NOTE: on the French page the month does not appear to change from December as you try to forward the calendar on. However, the dates do actually change if you click on a specific day.

Australia companion deal part oneworld from £1601 business class return

Sydney Opera House

I wrote last week about the Lufthansa/Swiss companion First class deal, but there are also some very good value deals to Australia in business class on the same offer. Make no mistake, this is not a short way to Australia as it involves 2 stops and you have to get Stockholm first. But it does allow you to travel on a good choice of airlines including Cathay or British Airways for the final leg to Australia. Perth is also available for a similar price.

Is it worth the hassle?

It is probably about as cheap as you will get except if we get some one-off Black Fridays deals from Qatar or Garuda which have been known to happen occasionally. Air China will also be doing a price of £1863 from London to Sydney for Black Friday which may also be worth considering.

Qatar are likely to have fares of under £2000 from Scandinavia if they have a sale for Black Friday sale as usual. This means one less stop and the ability to earn BA Avios and tier points. However, although the Swiss/Lufthansa fare does not allow stopovers, you can still stop for under 24 hours which is enough to break the journey and do some sightseeing. Options for transfers include Hong Kong and Singapore.

Singapore has a great business class as does Cathay. Lufthansa and Swiss depend on the aircraft types. You can read all our business class reviews here.

The rules:
