The Qatar Black Friday sale has arrived and there are few surprises so far. As usual, all the good deals are ex EU. You need to book by midnight 4 December and travel by 31 October 2020. That’s a really good period for travel, so hopefully, you can find a bargain! Qatar have one of the best business products out there in terms of the seats, food and service. Plus you earn BA Avios and tier points too. You can read reviews of all the seats and aircraft types here.

Sheraton Maldives

From the UK the best I could find was mainly outside London. While they may seem expensive, for Qatar UK prices they are not bad. Jakarta is worth considering for Bali as it is very easy and cheap to get to Bali from there. Prices start from around £50 and flights go a couple of times an hour.

Prices in business class return:

  • Gatwick – Jakarta £1704
  • Birmingham – Kuala Lumpur £2004
  • Birmingham – Penang £2068
  • Birmingham – Chiang Mai £2113
  • Birmingham – Goa £1647
  • Birmingham – Mumbai £1604
  • Edinburgh – Maldives £2000
  • Cardiff – Singapore – £2008
  • Manchester – Singapore £1756
  • Manchester – Hong Kong £1750

You can book direct with Qatar Airways here or try Skyscanner for the cheapest prices online.

Cape town cheap business class flights

Cape Town waterfront and Table mountain

As usual, I have worked out the cheapest places to fly to each destination and given alternatives if they are close in prices to the best. Some of the cheapest starting points do have short-haul aircraft on the route to Doha, so make sure you check aircraft type if this would worry you. Also, look at getting to the start point. Some can be expensive such as Belgrade and only have one flight a day. Also, some routes only offer 40 tier points to Doha instead of 140. Athens is one of those. You can see which of these routes have the QSuites below.

If you have never flown ex EU you can read my beginners guide here and my guide to flying from Helsinki and Scandinavia here.

  1. Hi Michele. Great piece as always but would it be possible to also get a bit more detail on how/when you are finding these prices , example dates? e.g. I tried searching for Qatar flights for the routings you have named January and there’s nothing like those prices then!

    • Hi Guy. The best way to do it is to use Google flights. You can scroll through months at a time which makes it quicker to search.

  2. Morning Michele.
Thanks for the post and tips! Do you think BUD-PVG is a typo as I couldn’t find it for £1000, just around £1300-1400.
    Thanks, Travel Todi

  3. I have been tracking QR July dates ex-EU to Bangkok for a few weeks now and the fares today have been the same for about a week. There’s no special reduction today for Black Friday. Still a good J fare though.

    • It’s hard to tell what it is and isn’t so I decided to just put any fares that were a good price in!

  4. Just to say thank you. I think the prices are great. From memory dont think the Qatar Black Friday last year was that good. Booked a HK flight end of september I always go back to see relatives around that time of the year the fact the availability is for such a long time is great and I don’y think I have booked it as cheap as that. Also booked a singapore flight as well.

Have your say
