As regular readers will know, I rate the Corinthia in London very highly. In fact, it was one of my top 5 hotels in this article. The hotel is not cheap, but you do get a lot for your money.
Corinthia Hotel London
There are a few things that I love about the Corinthia that justify the high price tag for me, apart from the beautiful rooms and bathrooms. Firstly they operate a 24 hour check in check out policy. This means you can normally get a full 24 hours in the hotel, rather than the regular 20-21 hours in most hotels.
The other big plus is access to their spa. This is one of the best hotel spas in London in my opinion. A day guest pass would cost from £225 including treatments but guests can use it for free. The spa is stunningly designed in cream and black marble with several modern fire places adding to the ambiance. It spans four floors and features a nail studio, indoor swimming pool, vitality pool, amphitheatre sauna, steam room, ice fountain, marble heated loungers and private sleep pods. You can read more about the Corinthia in this article.
Corinthia American Express offer
The new Amex offer may have appeared on your BA Amex card but if it hasn’t you don’t need to worry. You can simply book through this special Corinthia page.
The offer includes
- £125 credit on food and beverage,
- a bottle of champagne on check in
- free breakfast
The offer is available until April 2018. It can be used Thursday to Monday with no minimum stay, so you could then move somewhere cheaper to have a second night in London. The only catch is you have to book at least a deluxe category room. Obviously it is only a worthwhile offer if you would want to eat or drink in the hotel!
Rates very wildly by as much as £500 on some nights at the Corinthia. I therefore recommend being very flexible on your dates to get the best deal and booking in advance.
Is it worth eating there?
There is a choice of restaurants with the Northall offering Modern British cuisine and it also has a large bar area. The menu focuses on seasonality, sustainability, and traceability. I highly recommend The Northall restaurant brunch. There is an option for unlimited Laurent Perrier champagne with it, which costs a total of £90 a head. They are certainly generous with the top ups and it is easy to drink a large amount of champagne if you wish (as my roving reporter and I can attest to!). If you just want the basic brunch with 1 glass of champagne it costs £55 per person. The food was also beautifully presented and delicious. The menu includes more traditional dishes such as truffled eggs Benedict and roast beef as well as lobster and beef tartare.
Massimo is the other restaurant and has an Italian menu. I can’t really comment on Massimo, as it was years ago that I last ate there. There is more details on the restaurants here.
St Regis offerSt Regis have a very good offer for a second night in a suite at $4. This is in honour of when the first St. Regis hotel opened its doors in 1904 and the price was $4. You need to use rate code STR1904.
The offer is valid at participating St. Regis Hotels & Resorts for stays booked and completed between by December 31, 2017. You can actually make consecutive bookings of 2 nights at the same property and still get the offer. But you may have to check in and out every time depending on the hotel. It does say it is a members only offer on the page, but there is no mention in the T&C of this. However, you may as well sign up for SPG anyway and get the points if you are not already a member.
