Finally, there are some offers from both Qatar and British Airways both from the UK. Neither are a full sale but it’s a start!
British Airways – Money off BA holidays and First from £2026
BA holidays are often a great way to save some money and maximise your earning potential as you get an extra 1 Avios per £1 sent on BA Holidays on top of the usual flight or car hire Avios. The packages can often work out the same or even cheaper than the flight on its own.
Save up to £100 on holiday bookings
– £25 extra discount on Flight + Car holidays to any destination for bookings with a min spend of £600.
- £50 extra discount on Flight + Hotel/Car holidays to any destination for bookings with a min spend of £1,250.
£100 extra discount on Flight + Hotel/Car holidays to any destination for bookings with a min spend of £2,500.
To get the discount you must book by midnight on 10 July 2018.
If you are looking for a cheap Club Europe holiday there are quite a few decent prices even without the discount. Examples with Club Europe flights per person based on 2 sharing a room include:

- Barcelona £243 with 2 nights hotel

First to Cape Town offer
BA are offering a companion ticket from London to Cape Town for a price of £4,052 per couple (£2,026 per person) in First class. The seats at the price are limited but I can see a few, particularly in February. Considering that business class is often much more than this, I view it as a good deal. However, you do need to be aware that the flights are on one of BA’s old B747s and the IFE is pretty old and fussy for example. It also departs from Heathrow’s Terminal 3 which means no Concorde room access. Still, the £130 a bottle First Laurent Perrier Champagne on board still tastes as good no matter what the aircraft type! One potential solution is to route via Johnaseburg which costs only slightly more and means you would get the much newer A380 and access to the Concorde Room in Terminal 5 at Heathrow.
To bring the price down further you could try adding car hire or a hotel. Car hire will often bring the flight down to around £1800 per person. Remember you don’t need to have a hotel or car for the full duration of your visit – you can just add it for a day. This will be enough to get an extra 1 Avos per £1 spent on your booking on top of the usual Avios for the flights and car hire.
Both passengers must be booked together at the same time and on the same booking reference. Flights must be booked by 23:59 GMT 18 July 2018 for travel between 01 January 2019 to 31 March 2019. All travel must be completed by 31 March 2019. The flights are non-refundable and non-changeable. The date of departure is determined by the local date and time of the departing country.

Qatar flights to Hong Kong from London from £1486
Whilst we are still waiting for a Qatar sale, if you are after the Far East you may want to consider the Qatar offer from £1486 on London to Hong Kong. You could then redeem some Avios for Cathay Pacific flights to wherever you want to go as Roving Reporter and I have done. The offer is available from Gatwick and Heathrow although it is slightly cheaper from Gatwick. Another way to bring the price down is to select the BA flight to Doha and then Qatar.
A couple of things to note is that the fare does not seem to be available on the QSuite equipped flights from Heathrow. The aircraft from Doha to Hong Kong is also a B777 with the older 2-2-2 seats. These look quite old fashioned but if you are travelling with someone they are comfortable and wide too. At Gatwick, you would not get the great Qatar First/Business Class lounge experience that you would get at Heathrow. They do use their B787 from Gatwick though which has great seats.
You need to book 5 days in advance and must stay 7 days. Changes and cancellations costs a whopping $800!
