Flybe has today announced that it will be flying from London Heathrow for the first time next year to Scotland. Flybe will offer up to 18 flights a day between London and Edinburgh, and 10 between London and Aberdeen starting from 26 March 2017. The new routes are in addition to Flybe’s already established London City flights from the two Scottish airports.

Flybe aquired the slots  as a result of  the acquisition of BMI by IAG. The flights will use Heathrow’s Terminal 2 and have been timed for both business and leisure travel. Fares start from £39.99 one way including taxes and charges.

You will be able to earn Avios and use Avios to buy tickets on these services. On Flybe Avios are earned based on the actual cost of the ticket, not the miles flown. If you do not have status in the BA Executive Club scheme you may well earn more Avios on Flybe than BA if you are flying on an expensive ticket.
