IHG yesterday morning launched a sale for 72 hours but you must be an IHG Rewards member. It is free to join here. The offer is only available at participating Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo hotels and Staybridge Suites in the UK and Ireland for standard room-only bookings. You must stay by Monday 27th February 2017.

It is not terribly exciting as Intercontinental hotels and Kimpton Hotels are not included but if you were planning a UK or airport stay anyway you may as well use the discount.

Hotels are grouped into prices at £39, £49, £69 or £89. There are some interesting hotels in the top 2 brackets e.g. The Crowne Plaza at Heathrow is £69. I have used this hotel a few times over the years. It is nothing special but it is a solid choice with a pool and comfortable rooms just off junction 4 of the M4. At weekends it is usually around that price anyway but during the week it is often nearer the £200 mark.

In the £89 bracket there are a couple of central London options. The Crowne Plaza London – The City, Kensington and Docklands Hotels are all included. I have stayed at the City Crowne Plaza and would certainly recommend it at £89 although the location may not suit everyone depending on your plans. The offer closes at 08.59 GMT on Saturday 7th January 2017. Visit the IHG sale page for more details.
