BA first Gatwick long haul schedules confirmed and Bermuda open
Yesterday I wrote about BA’s plans to move all its short haul services from Gatwick to Heathrow until September as well as cancel some long haul routes. Today, British Airways has confirmed its schedule for long haul flights from Gatwick for July and August.
Here is the schedule:
London Gatwick – Bermuda eff 17 JUL 20 2 weekly
London Gatwick – Bridgetown eff 18 JUL 20 2 weekly
London Gatwick – Kingston eff 20 JUL 20 2 weekly
London Gatwick – St. Lucia eff 2 5JUL 20 1 weekly
A quick look on SeatSpy shows there is good Avios availability for Bermuda for August in all classes. There’s more good news as Bermuda opened to international tourists today. There are a number of restrictions such as the usual COVID test which you can find here.
Thailand could open by August
On 25 June 2020, the Government of Thailand approved a draft plan to allow international tourists to return to Thailand, potentially from 1 August 2020.
Thailand’s draft plan includes three phases of reopening:
- Phase One: Business travelers, investors, skilled workers, people with Thai family members, teachers, etc.
- Phase Two: Medical tourism travelers
- Phase Three: General tourists

Great source for info on the confused airline picture. Am due to fly to Mauritius in September has anyone heard any rumous abot routes opening? Balance of booking due at the end of July. Any info, sources and updates would be very welcome.
Thanks
David
You can see that the good people at AA have been paying close attention to the “mostly peaceful / shot dead” goings on in Seattle. Maybe the idea is to offer us Brits a holiday jaunt to a warzone as they no no American would go near the place with a ten foot barge poll
