British Airways to resume long haul at Gatwick from North Terminal
Gatwick is currently operating from the North Terminal which they reopened in early June. Although BA announced last week that they would be resuming long haul flights from Gatwick from 17 July, there was no mention of which terminal. It has now announced that the flights will initially operate from the North terminal, where it used to be based until around 3 years ago. Obviously they have no lounge there, but there are a number of pay lounges. During the move to the South Terminal, BA offered lounge access via No 1 Lounges so they may well do the same again. You can read about No1 lounges at Gatwick here.
BA will also no longer be accepting cash payments at Gatwick for things such as upgrades and excess baggage.

Flight to Paris in Euro Traveller
Regular contributor Zine (from AlgerieMonde.live) flew to Paris in Euro Traveller yesterday. Like other reports, he found check-in very busy for Club passengers (he’s silver) and had to queue for quite a while. The terminal was also much busier than in recent weeks.
Zine enjoyed his breakfast in the First lounge as a Silver cardholder. The service was friendly and the food arrived very quickly. Staff were seen cleaning very regularly.
Boarding was quick and well organised but there is no priority boarding for status holders. Onboard he was greeted by staff wearing masks and handed the wellness pack. Masks are mandatory in Heathrow and onboard. You can get a free mask in the airport but there are none in the hygiene packs.
The flight was pretty empty but yet they had still sat people in the same row rather than moving them. Zine asked the crew to move to an empty row.
Despite it being a before 9am departure, economy passengers get the same rather inappropriate snack that you get the rest of the day:
I’m not sure I really want pretzels and crisps at 9am!
Club passengers get a bag instead of a box at breakfast time.
The bag contains a filled croissant, water and a muffin.
Overall, Zine was happy with this flight and enjoyed his first trip as a silver member!
