British Airways First class from under £2000 return

A380 First cabin

Whilst BA are not advertising First class sales fares there appear to be a number of destinations where limited fares at low prices are available. You can find all the business class fares and holidays in the sale in yesterdays’ Centenary sale article.

These first class fares are all from London and start from:

  • Atlanta £1869
  • Austin £1989
  • Boston £2316
  • Calgary £1984
  • Charleston £2065
  • Chicago £1970
  • Dallas £2009
  • Denver £1999
  • Houston £1939
  • Las Vegas £2139
  • Miami £2069
  • Nashville £1940
  • New Orleans £1944
  • New York £1910
  • Philadelphia £1859
  • Phoenix £2059
  • Pittsburgh £1964
  • San Diego £1999
  • San Francisco £1969
  • San Jose (CA) £1939 return
  • Seattle £1969
  • Toronto £1930
  • Vancouver £1969
  • Washington DC £1849

However, if you are willing to start from outside London it gets even cheaper. There is very limited availability at these prices – most are in December and they all start from Inverness. Whilst you obviously have to factor in getting to Inverness, you could use Avios and it will get you an extra 80 Tier points return over the directl London return.

  • Atlanta £1702
  • Boston £1852
  • Chicago £1802
  • Dallas £1842
  • Houston £1772
  • Las Vegas £1707
  • New York £1768
  • Philadelphia £1692
  • Phoenix £1892
  • San Francisco £1802
  • Seattle £1802
  • Washington DC £1682

You can find the special BA sale page here.

British Airways Legoland event

As part of their ongoing Centenary celebrations BA are holding an event at Legoland next weekend. Originally it looked like it would be invite- only but in fact, it is open to all.

The Executive Club event will be held at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort on 6 July 2019. There are just 5,000 tickets available giving the park a much quieter feel than usual.  Executive Club Members and their guests can experience all the Resort has to offer – including the new attraction, The Haunted House.

Executive Club Members with tickets will have exclusive access to Legoland from 18.00-21.00. Tickets cost just £17 per person and children under three go free. Complimentary parking is included.

For more details on the event visit https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/executive-club/faqs/legoland

BA Gold upgrade voucher improvementsBA Executive club avios

I wrote about the changes to the BA Gold Upgrade Voucher in this article allowing you to upgrade an existing ticket. BA Gold Upgrade Vouchers or GUFs are earned when you pass 2500 and 3500 Tier Points and give you the ability to upgrade to the next cabin for free. It turns out it has just got even better…previously when you booked with British Airways you needed to have Avios availability in the cabin you were upgrading to. If you booked through a travel agent you could book into revenue classes making it much easier. BA have now sensibly changed the rules to make it the same for both direct bookings and travel agents.

This ability to book into revenue classes only applies to certain fare buckets – A class for First or I for business. Up until last week, you could upgrade at the time of booking with certain travel agents (we use Propeller Travel) or at any time via British Airways.  You can now also upgrade your booking at any time via a travel agent.

  1. Just booked Inverness to Vegas in November £1681.60pp return BA first. Same dates from Edinburgh was £3264pp. I live 90 mins away from Edinburgh and 3 hours from Inverness I think that saving is worth the longer drive. Once again a big thank you to TLFL. That will be my third trip this year with your help and I figure with what I have saved its free( well as free as any trip to Vegas). Thanks again.

    • Wow. That’s quite a saving! I am looking at doing something similar myself. I’m a bit of a Vegas addict!!

Interesting link on the Vegas First deal from Inverness, links to River Island children’s clothes (not completely useless, I have a two year old). Mulling over the same deal as above Inv-Lhr-Ord-Las Las-lhr-Inv for £1736. Is this ok for TP as I’ve never done a run before?
