News & offers: BA Mauritius or Seychelles from £1555, 15% off hotels.com & Virgin’s dry January

BA launch Seychelles flightsAnse Source d'Argent - Beach on island La Digue in Seychelles

Mauritius and Seychelles from £1555

There seems to be quite a flurry of good ex EU deals this week and although the prices are nowhere near the great prices we have seen for the US and South Africa, both destinations are traditionally very pricey and even in a BA sale are rarely below £2000.

The fare starts in Dublin which is well connected to most UK regional airports making it a fairly easy ex EU starting point. The Seychelles is available for £100 more. Departures are pretty limited and appear to be mainly on Mondays. The best availability is in June and July.

Virgin Atlantic’s dry January

Shepherds delight

If like me you struggle not to indulge in a glass or two when flying then Virgin’s new onboard offering may help. Many airlines (apart from Qatar which has some interesting soft drinks and non-alcoholic fizz) struggle to provide interesting alternatives to alcohol.

Virgin Atlantic has launched the world’s first no and low alcohol cocktail menu on board an aircraft this month. The No Lo menu has been designed in partnership with Seedlip, the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirits and Regal Rogue, the Australian vermouth and is available across in Economy, Premium and Upper Class cabins. I will be flying next week with Virgin so I will report back on how they taste.

The menu has been created to offer customers choosing not to drink alcohol onboard, a grown up option with unique flavours.

Current No Lo Menu available across Economy, Premium and Upper Class cabins

Red Sky at Night (no alcohol)

Seedlip Spice, Fever Tree Indian tonic, lemon slice

Red Sky at night

Shepherd’s delight (no alcohol)

Seedlip Spice, Fever Tree ginger ale, lemon slice

The Bold Mule (low alcohol)

Regal Rogue Bold Red vermouth, Fever Tree ginger ale, lemon

The Bold Spritz (low alcohol)

Regal Rogue Bold Red vermouth, soda, lemon

An incredible 50% saving on a 14 night ( 14 in hotel, 16 in all ) club class flight and all inclusive hotel on a Monday in June with this Dublin offer. €2500 instead of £5100 on a weekend departure from London in June.

  2. Hi Michele/Paul,
I have booked a West coast USA trip out of Inverness and remember you saying it is an easy airport to get off the plane and back on! I have visited Inverness but only with cabin luggage – can you do the quick turn-around with hold luggage? I hope so as this is what I have booked:-)

  3. Great deal Mike.

Have your say
