BA/Iberia tier point break from £160
I generally don’t do Tier points runs in the traditional sense, I like to actually see something of a place if I can (though Paul our resident tier point runner is a bit more extreme in this respect). Weekend breaks with one or two nights somewhere on a cheap Club Europe ticket are an ideal solution for me to have a nice break and rack up some tier points too.
There are a couple of offers to Spain with Iberia tickets but flying on British Airways and Iberia (always worth comparing the two if you are flying to Spain). The cheapest fares are from Gatwick.
The current best deals are:
London-Barcelona £160 – 80 tier points return
London – Madrid- Barcelona £171 – 120 tier points return (Iberia domestic are only 20 each way)
London- Malaga – £180 – 80 tier points return ( you can read my review of a weekend in Marbella here)
Most fares are available 7 November until 19 March 2019 but the Madrid Barcelona is available until December. Minimum stay is 2 days. Tickets are non-refundable but changeable for £100.
You need to book through Iberia to get these prices as they are a lot more on British Airways.
British Airways Nashville flights
British Airways is set to increase its flights to Nashville next summer, operating a daily flight between Tennessee and Heathrow. The addition of two extra weekly services means Nashville is British Airways fastest new route to move to a daily service in 10 years. The daily service will be operated by the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. If you were thinking about redeeming Avios on this route now would be a good time to do it as the extra seats are released for next summer.
Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Director of Network and Alliances, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be offering daily services to Nashville from our home in London, next summer. We only launched this route earlier this year and it is testament to the appeal of the city and all that it offers that we’re able to increase our service in such a short timeframe. Indeed, it’s the quickest new route that we’ve moved to a daily service in the last 10 years.”
You can search for Avios availability on ba.com
I recently flew LATAM’s B787 in business class and I was very pleasantly surprised. You can read my review here. As LATAM is oneworld you can earn tier points and Avios flying with them. Recently they have been doing some great deals to South America from the UK. There is currently up to 20% off flights from Europe when you book by 15 October for travel between 1 November and 30 March 2019.
You can find the relevant LATAM page here.
