Although Paris is not one of my favourite airports, at least it is very easy and quick to get to for starting an ex EU flight. Today’s flight deals are to Auckland, Melbourne or Sydney from Paris Charles de Gaulle flying on either Star Alliance or a combination of Star Alliance and oneworld. They have been around for a while but I thought it was worth a reminder as not only are these easy for positioning, but they offer a range of great airlines to fly with! They are due to end shortly so this could be your last chance at these prices!

Availability is very limited until Spring 2020 so you may want to use something like google flights to find availability if you are flexible. The fares only seem to be bookable through travel agents at the lower prices – it nearly £600 more if you book with Swiss.

You can travel on a range of airlines including a couple of oneworld ones – BA or Cathay for part of the way. The option to add in a stopover for only €100 is also very handy for such a long journey. The options include some great cities such as Singapore or Tokyo.

The fares start from

  • Auckland £2033
  • Sydney £2208
  • Melbourne £2074

The rules are as follows:

  • Book by 16 October 2019
  • Travel before 31 August 2020
  • Minimum stay – 5 days or a Saturday night
  • Maximum stay – 3 months
  • Suggested allowable airlines: Swiss, Singapore, Air New Zealand, ANA, Lufthansa, Asiana, British Airways, Qantas, Cathay
  • One stopover in each direction for €100
  • Unlimited transfers

The fare is available from Expedia or you can try Skyscanner to see if any other online agents are cheaper for your dates. It is always worth trying on Expedia to see if you can add a hotel as it can often lower the price. You can even try adding in something like a hostel or campsite for one night as this can lower the price, and you don’t need to actually use it!

Thanks Michele, I booked this recently, great deal. A word of warning, Travelgenio, a Spain based ota, was offering the best prices when I booked and illegally added credit card fees to the price. My bank opened fraud proceedings against them and refunded the money but report it if it happens to you.

  2. Can you clarify the NZ price mentioned £2033 is this each way or return
