Cheap flights to Bali

Garuda Indonesia have been doing some good deals to Bali recently from the UK. Sadly this deal has now gone, but there is still a way to get to Bali for around £1450 in business class. Garuda are offering London to Jakarta for £1395. Although you would then have to get a separate ticket to Bali, these are very cheap and flights go at least once an hour on multiple airlines. We flew on Air Asia in exit row seats for around £70 return.

Garuda business class

Garuda Indonesia may not be everyone’s idea of a good airline to fly on as they used to have a terrible reputation. That is all long in the past now in terms of safety and onboard service. In fact, they have won SkyTrax awards for the best cabin crew many years running. Garuda are part of Skyteam, so you can credit to Delta to be able to use them on Virgin easily. Otherwise, you use Air France/KLM who are due to allow the use of their miles on Virgin and vice versa shortly.

Double points on Heathrow Rewards

heathrow rewards avios bonus

If you fly through Heathrow a lot it is worth getting a Heathrow Rewards card. This earns you points on virtually everything at Heathrow, including the official car parks. You can then either transfer into various airline miles such as Avios or spend on shopping or parking. There is currently a double points bonus on cosmetics when you spend £200+ at World Duty-Free. until 30 September 2019. You can learn more about the Heathrow Rewards scheme in this article.

Buy Avios bonusAvios bonus

British Airways have got another offer on buy Avios with a 30% bonus. They have also raised the limit of how many you can buy to 200,000 for the promotion.

I generally don’t go by valuations of how much an Avios is worth, as frankly, I don’t care! Most of it is how much it is worth to you personally. However, I would view this offer as bad value and I would not now unless you abolsutely have to! BA regularly do 50% bonus offers so it would be mad to buy Avios at the moment. At 50% off there can be occasions where it can be worth buying enough Avios to do an entire trip versus the cash price. This would not be true at only 30% off.

The offer is available until 24 September. You can find the buy Avios page here.

Interesting comments about Garuda. I did Singapore to Bali in business and it was the best short haul flight I have ever taken. Staff were exceptional.
