Ex EU to Cape Town from £1294

Cape Town is a great destination for a short break over the winter thanks to warm weather and no jet lag as it is only a small-time difference. Flights from the UK are often very pricey making flying from another EU country a good choice. There is currently a great offer from Oslo to Cape Town with KLM or Air France. It does involve a stop in Amsterdam or Paris on the way but at least from there, you get a long segment to get some sleep on. Qatar often has good prices to Cape Town but their flights are not so good for optimising sleep due to two shorter sectors.

KLM uses a B777 to Cape Town which has seats in a 2-2-2 configuration. The seats are new though and come with decent entertainment and a good size HD screen.

Air France also use a B777 which has better seats in my opinion in a 1-2-1 configuration. You can read my review here.

Ex EU to Buenos Aires with British Airways

The Buenos Aires Cabildo located in Plaza de Mayo

Earlier this year RR and I visited Buenos Aires and both absolutely loved it. From the beautiful architecture and tree-lined streets to the delicious food and wine, you won’t be disappointed! Prices from London are normally at least £1900 in a sale and well over £2000 the rest of the time.

This offer is great value although you do need to factor in the cost of getting to Milan. You could do a stopover in Milan after positioning or do as we did recently and do a back to back. This means flying back to London on the same aircraft you just got off. It was very simple to do a B2B at Milan, just through the connections area and we even had time for a lounge visit!
