Oneworld Asia from £1007

I previously wrote about the Finnair sale from London, but if you are willing to start outside the UK then the savings can be greater, although the tier points would be less. The sale is on until 27 January. You can, of course, earn Avios on Finnair as well as tier points.

There are a couple of offers I have already written about from Scandinavia

  • Oslo/Stockholm – Shanghai £1200 Finnair
  • Stockholm – Hong Kong £1027

But there is also one with a much shorter positioning flight – or you could even take the Eurostar. The fare starts from Brussels which is worth a night stop if you have not been before. The flight is to Hong Kong which I will shortly be writing about. You could, of course, then head off somewhere else in Asia. I am doing a trip solely to Hong Kong soon, but Paul and I are also using it as a starting point to Taiwan and South Korea later in the year due to a great fare.

The good news is that Hong Kong is served by Finnair’s A350 (which Paul and I will be flying on). This has reverse herringbone seats in a 1-2-1 layout. You can read my review here.

British Airways Club World to Durban and Johannesburg from £1376

south africa

We published a great BA deal to Cape Town yesterday. If you fancy somewhere else in South Africa there are two other deals which whilst not as quite as good, are still great value.

The deal to Johannesburg for £1376 return in Club World is from Rome or Venice (would make a nice two-centre break). You fly back to Heathrow and then on to Johanessburg on BA’s A380. Don’t forget although no stopovers are allowed you could break your journey at Heathrow for up to 24 hours.

  1. I was looking at Expedia via topcashback and found flight plus hotel BRU-HKG around the £1100 mark with a decent 4 star hotel,
The end result is a rough 18% cashback
    1) buying it with a miles cc
    2) avios through flying
    3) cashback money from topcashback that you can later on convert into avios with a 25% bonus
So not too shabby for a weekend away costing roughly 550 per night lol
