USA West Coast from £1380 on BA/AA

BA club world sale

Before Christmas, I wrote about the good deals available from Dublin to the US. These expired on the 18 December. A new fare has been published by British Airways and American Airlines which allows travel on oneworld airlines including BA. The dates are different but otherwise, it is very similar, if very slightly more expensive. You can fly back to Heathrow or you can change aircraft in the US. Looking at the transfer rules it appears you could turn this into a bit of a tier point run for Las Vegas or Phoenix. If you added in a stop both ways via New York and then Los Angeles you would get 720 tier points not including any positioning flights assuming you routed via Heathrow or somewhere else in Europe as well.

The prices from Dublin business class return are:

  • Las Vegas £1360
  • Los Angeles £1481
  • Phoenix £1473
  • San Diego £1477
  • San Francisco £1514
  • Seattle £1504
  • Denver £1488

70% extra miles on hotels

I have written many times about the hotel booking websites that reward your booking with extra miles or Avios. These include Kaligo, RocketMiles and Agoda. Today’s offer is from Kaligo and offers an amazing up to 70% extra miles or points in their year-end sale. You need to go to this page to sign up for the offer and select where you want to credit the miles.

You can register and book until 3 January 2020 08:00 hr UTC  for stays between 26 December 2019 and 30 June 2020 (both dates inclusive). The bonus miles/points earned during this Promotion will be credited to your loyalty programme membership account within 4-6 weeks after the completion of your hotel stay.

You can credit the miles to most major airline schemes such as British Airways Avios, Virgin Flying Club, Qatar, Flying Blue, Etihad and many more.

You can find the sale page here.

  1. Why do BA/AA never have sales to ATL? I know it’s a Delta/Virgin hub but still….

  2. Hey Michelle,
I need a 5 night stay in Hawaii not sure if i should jump on this offer any advice?
    Thanks

    • In 2019 there were quite a few HNL deals ex EU do it depends how much time you have. You can usually get deals around £1650 to Hawaii ex EU. Depends if you want the tier points to go on a cab ticket the whole way.

  3. Hello again
I should have been clearer, what I meant was that I already have tickets I was talking about the Kaligo deal in terms of where to stay
i’ll be doing CDG-LHR-MAD-JFK-LAX-HNL in April
    thanks

    • Sorry! Yes then I would compare against other sites and obviously you don’t get the hotel loyalty benefits. But it’s a great way to earn Avios quickly and doesn’t usually cost that much more than other sites.

  4. Hi Michele,
How do I book a flight departing DUB on BA.com in GBP or is it not possible?
    Thanks

    • On ba.com it will have to be in Euros although you may be able to find an online agent that will charge in pounds. I always recommend having a commission-free foreign exchange way of paying such as Curve which you can link to any Mastercard or Visa.
