Lufthansa and Swiss have another sale from the UK, which is sadly not as good as the companion fares but still has a few reasonable prices around. You need to book by 10 November at 10:00pm. You can travel until 15 July 2020.
So which airline should you choose?
Out of the two, I would probably go with Swiss as the seat layout is slightly nicer, but the Lufthansa seats are more comfortable for sleeping unless you are bothered by the small footwell. Lufthansa has a 2-2-2 layout whereas Swiss have the ‘throne’ seats which have lots of storage and privacy for the solo traveller. Swiss also have seats for those travelling together in the middle of the cabin.
I have flown in Swiss business class long haul, but it was quite a while ago. My view was that the food and service were excellent. They had an interesting selection of Swiss wines which I enjoyed to try something different. The cabin has a sophisticated feel to it with light wood with dark accents and seats. There is one flaw, in my opinion. The seats are not very comfortable for sleeping on the older A330 aircraft. They feel like they have a slight slope and are very low to the ground. The new seats on the B777 are much better and a good quality product. The B777s are available on quite a few routes such as Zurich to Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong. You can see more about the Swiss B777 in this video.
