Probably because there is a lack of business travellers in August, there are a number of good discounts around on lounge access this month. Here is a round-up of the best offers.

Plaza Premium

Plaza Premium lounge Heathrow Terminal 5

Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5

I think Plaza Premium usually have some of the best airport lounges outside the airlines. As well as airside lounges they also have arrivals lounges which are landside and you don’t need a boarding pass to enter. They have a couple of offers for this summer.

Priority Passpriority pass

As I have said before, I am not usually a big fan of Groupon as you get lots of emails which mainly appear to be offering Brazilian waxing (not a good idea in a cheap salon if you ask me!). Now and again though, they have some excellent travel deals and discounts. Their Priority Pass offer is back which has 50% off a Priority Pass lounge access membership for £6.

You can join Groupon for free here if you are not a member. If you get fed up with the emails, just unsubscribe as I will cover any decent travel deals here.

Here are the offer details:

  • Choose from three options
  • £6 for a 50% discount on Standard Membership
  • £6 for a 50% discount on Standard Membership with the first visit included
  • £6 for a 25% discount on Standard Plus Membership with ten visits included

Once you have made your Groupon purchase, you then need to go to the Priority Pass website to enter the voucher and buy the required membership.

Memberships include:

  • Access to over 1,000 lounges in over 400 cities
  • Complimentary drinks, refreshments and pre-flight bites
  • Power sockets and free Wi-Fi in most lounges
  • Conference rooms, showers, beds and spa facilities in selected locations
Priority Pass has over 1000 locations worldwide. For a very frequent traveller, if you are not always in Business or First Class, it can be very cost-effective. You can also get a Priority Pass membership with the American Express Platinum card. This includes unlimited visits including one guest per visit.
The standard prices for the membership levels before the discount are:

You can find the Groupon offer page here.

  1. Note that the PP Groupon discount is “Up to 50%” – I went for the Standard Memebership with 1st Visit Included and the actual discount was more like 30%. Still an ok deal but there are other similar PP discounts available elsewhere.
