2021 US from £790 return in Club with BA/Oneworld airlines

One of the best fares for a long time has appeared today from Luxembourg and the good news is that it is available to book until September 2021 which hopefully will be enough time for things to return to some form of normality.

The really cheap fares are not available to all US cities but there is a good selection. It is cheaper from Luxembourg than Brussels, although Brussels probably offers a greater choice of connections and positioning flights. It can be cheaper to fly from one of them and return to the other sometimes.

A couple of reminders – BA’s Book with Confidence ends on Wednesday 30 September so if you are likely to want to book something, it is best to do it now if you are travelling before 31 August 2021. If you want to limit your cash expenditure, make it a holiday booking by adding a hotel for one night and then you only have to pay a deposit until 3 weeks before at the moment.

UPDATE: You can use the complex holiday booking page here to add a hotel.  However, there appear to be some good old BA quirks using that form for Luxembourg! Contrary to some comments you can add a hotel to a LUX booking as I just have, but it will not let you just pay a deposit for some reason. To book online you need to go to the front page of and then select flight+hotel and then create custom trip or click this link.

I would suggest calling BA holidays if you want to just pay a deposit and it will not let you. I can normally get through after about a 15-minute hold. Brussels will let you add a hotel for one night and just pay a deposit.

  1. Hi Michelle, Stupid question, how do you add a 1 night hotel stay to the flight to only paid a deposit for the booking? It seems I need to add hotels for the whole duration.

    • You need to find the complex hotel booking form. If you go to the holidays booking page (don’t start on the main flight booking page) it should give that as a tick box option for I only need a hotel for part of my stay. If you can’t find it let me know and I will dig a link out.

    • Hi Michelle, thank you but I am still having trouble. Can you please send the link? Many thanks

  2. Brilliant fares from lux to the USA. Thanks. Have found the cheap ones to Boston but cant find the cheap ones to washington. They come out as about 1000 euros

  3. Hi Michele, perhaps you could post that Link. I’ve tried every which way to find a trip to BOS from LUX, but how ever I go about it all it returns to is ‘Sorry, we don’t offer hotels or car rental from this location’. Maybe I’m missing something or there’s a glitch in the system. Many thanks.

  4. +1 on posting the link. I get the same message. Thought it was me being dim. I was under the impression you could not start a BA holiday outside the UK and I cannot find out how to add a one night hotel to a normal flight booking. Great fare to Toronto at almost exactly £1000 in June which I fancy booking.

    Dear @Zara ,

Please see below for a link to the page you need. I found this as follows: book flight & hotel/ right hand side of page “create a trip” select the “customise your trip” option ( you dont need to fill anything else out) scroll down page/ still in the initial box you were clicking in select the “I need a hotel for part of my trip” option. This will take you to another page where you should scroll down again and make sure the aforementioned box is still ticked ( we all know BA’s IT isn’t that great!) and away you go.

This link may take you directly to the last step, again BA’s IT means the site can interpret the exact same request in several different ways depending on whether it’s raining, there’s a cat involved or you are a tea or coffee drinker ( obviously i’m being somewhat facetious here lol)

    Hope this helps

  6. I think I’m going mad here. I have tried everything countless times. I can book a ‘flight only’ from LUX to BOS but it does not give LUX as an option when doing a ‘flight and hotel’. I know there are several ways of working around BA’s ridiculous website but this has been to no avail.

  7. I agree with the comments above. The fares from Luxembourg are great, I also found Miami at 900 EUR. BUT, BA doesn’t offer hotels or cars ex LUX, so you can’t use the holiday route to just pay a deposit. Hotels and cars are available from Brussels at the slightly higher fares, but I can’t find a way to just get one night, whatever method I try it quotes the hotel for the full duration. It does seem possible to get one day’s car hire however.

    • It is to do with which form you use but you are correct about the deposit for LUX. See update to original post

  8. hi there. Amazing offer thank you from Lon-NY summer 2021 – but i’m trying to add just one night hotel, then when it get sot payment it’s asking me for the full amount – am i missing a trick??

  9. Thanks GrahamP I’m not going funny in the head then!!!

  10. Still doing research and found this interesting.
    LUX -BOS Club 4-16/9 £809, using 54K Avios £519.
Booking and Upgrading with Avios £728 + 56,250.
Not such a bargain Booking and Upgrading!!!

  11. I know it’s not quite as good the headline deal but I’m seeing £1660 J fares from Luxembourg to Honolulu with stops in LHR, JFK and LAX which is perfect for TP runners to earn 920 TP in one go

  12. Worth noting that I managed to also add in a claim with British Airways Price Guarantee so they refunded me the difference between the BA flight and cheapest identical flight found via Skyscanner. Came to approx £750 for Lux to Boston, taking this into account. I did hope I might be eligible for the BAEC ‘double the difference’ offer but apparently that’s only an option when you book in £s.

Have your say
