UK to New York from £916 business class return

TAP has become one of the best value airlines for travel to the US. Not only do they offer a free stopover in one of my favourite European cities, Lisbon, but many routes have their brand new Airbus NEOS. These have a great business class product. These particular routes feature their A321LR which have an alternating 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 layout.  The flights are available from Gatwick to Newark and route via Lisbon or Porto.

TAP is part of Star Alliance and if you want to find out more about collecting Star Alliance miles you can see our basic guide here or Paul’s plan for status next year with them.

Australia and New Zealand with Singapore Airlines from £2091

Wharariki Beach New Zealand

While you may be a BA tier point collector, sometimes it is worth taking the hit on a different alliance for a great deal. This offer is with Singapore Airlines, which I think are a fantastic airline for business class. The bed is definitely the largest I have seen in business class, and the service is also excellent. Plus who doesn’t love an onboard Singapore Sling?

Singapore airlines A350 business class review stockholm

The crew were keen to pose for photos on our A350 flight!

Roving Reporter and I did the same deal to New Zeland two years ago. The flights are from Stockholm and do involve a stop in Moscow. However, this is not as tedious as it sounds. It is well organised, once off the plane you are in the lounge in about 10-15 minutes and then have around 30 minutes before you board again. There are no long walks as the gate is near the lounge and immigration is swift even if it does seem to involve a lot of repeated staring at documents and stamping bits of paper! Stopovers are allowed, so we broke our journey in Singapore. You can read reviews of all our Singapore Airlines flights on that trip here.

You can still collect Avios on Singapore Airlines, which I talked about in this article.  In addition to that, you can then also collect Virgin or Star Alliance tier points and miles on the same flight – win-win!

  1. Surely that photo is not a Tap A321? That photo’s a wide body.

  2. If those Singapore to Oz flights were from UK airports I would jump all over them… But flying a 2 stopper from Stockholm with my wife and 2 small children is not going to happen. Who knows what the flying rules will be. What extra inconveniences they can dream up to make the process even more tedious. Either way I need a stonking deal from UK to Oz in business class for me to bother thinking about it… Best idea is probably wait until 1 week before travel and them book flights of possibly. Currently to go to Oz we would be in a quarentine for 14 days upon arrival, and 14 days quarentine when back. So half our holiday would be in quarentine and the children would miss an extra 2 weeks of school presuming schools are actually teaching again.
