OFFERS: British Airways NEW Luxury sale – Club World from £1193

As soon as one sale closes, another opens with British Airways. The moral of the story is, don’t book at full price!

I have started to book some flights for 2022 now and am feeling a little more optimistic about travel now restrictions are slowly lifting. With BA’s book with confidence now extended including the validity of vouchers, if you see a good deal it’s worth considering.

British Airways and British Airways Holidays have launched a sale, with reductions made across a range of flights and holidays all the way into the summer of 2022. The sale is running until 21 September 2021.

As well as extending their double tier points offer which I wrote about here, they have also extended the VIP airport offer, which is now available on travel up until 31 March 2022. Every customer spending a minimum of £1,500pp on holiday packages for a minimum of five nights, will automatically qualify for Galleries Club Lounge access, premium check-in, Fast Track Security and priority boarding if departing from London Heathrow Terminal 5. This offer also applies to those bookings that have already been made.

All bookings will fall under British Airways’ and British Airways Holidays’ ongoing flexible booking policies, allowing customers to rearrange their trip free of charge before 31 August 2022, although differences in fare prices still apply. Holiday packages can be secured with deposits from £60pp, with the final balance due up to three weeks before travel. This is generally my preferred option given the uncertainty of travel. You should also get a refund if the country you have booked to is against government regulations with a package holiday which does not apply to flight only.

Claire Bentley, Managing Director of British Airways Holidays, said: “With optimism about future holidays continuing to grow, we know that many of our customers are keen to get back to travelling.
“This sale is about giving as much choice as possible to those who are preparing to get away, whether in the near future or next year. We recognise that there’s still an element of uncertainty, which is why we recently extended our flexible booking policy. Low deposits on holidays and free amendments or cancellations offer the kind of peace of mind that we know our customers need.”

Club World is almost back to normal in terms of onboard service apart from the lack of pre-departure drinks. We have a review of the current BA first class coming up next week.

Are they worth booking?

Most of the prices are nothing earth-shattering. However, once people feel safe travelling again it’s likely prices could rise due to shortage of aircraft, crews and fewer routes leading to high demand. Some of the fly drives become good value based on the huge rental car shortage in the US where prices are sky high if you can even secure a car at all.

You can always try adding a hotel for one night to a flight to see if it brings the price down or even if it doesn’t it at least means you are putting less cash upfront. Although things are uncertain, if a better deal comes up you could cancel, get a voucher and rebook as I have done a few times in the last year.  But if you only add one night, you won’t qualify for the double tier points offer.

First class flights aren’t technically in the sale but there are some good deals currently for early 2022 that could be worth a punt.

Up to £300 off green list addition holidays

In addition to the sale, British Airways Holidays is offering up to £300 off bookings to a selection of newly green-listed countries (Canada, Denmark or Switzerland) following last night’s government announcement. This offer lasts until midnight on Wed 1st September. You can see more information on this here.

5 Comments on "OFFERS: British Airways NEW Luxury sale – Club World from £1193"

  1. Are they still doing the double tier points on these, or was that just the last sale?

  2. The flight/hotel combos are comical in some cases. Who on earth would pay for CW then stay at a HGI in Dubai??? Near a mall but still near impossible to walk to it! Michele would be straight in a cab to a lush resort on or by The Palm. BA Hols could at least present realistic itineraries.
