Make sure you check back at 09.30 on Friday 28 May for more exciting BA news!

Earlier this week I wrote about the double tier points on BA Holidays. Now another offer has appeared offering lounge access.

British Airways Holidays has launched an offer for customers booking summer holiday packages, featuring complimentary airport experiences at London Heathrow Terminal 5.

The offer applies to holidays with departure dates between 9 June and 30 September 2021, for those travelling in Euro Traveller, World Traveller or World Traveller Plus (economy and premium economy) as part of a Flight + Hotel and/or Car holiday package. It must be for a minimum of 5 days and the car or hotel must be for the entire booking period. Bookings must be made a minimum of 7 days before travel departure and depart from Heathrow. Like the previous offer you also need a minimum of 2 people per booking.

If you spend £1,500 per person or more, you’ll be eligible for:

  • Priority check-in
  • Fast track security
  • Club Lounge access
  • Priority boarding (available from 21 June)

Customers will automatically qualify when spending a minimum of £1,500pp for two people or more, for a minimum of five nights. Existing bookings will also be eligible.

Those travelling in Club World or Club Europe (business class) and spending a minimum of £2,500pp will also be eligible for First Wing check-in and complimentary access to the Galleries First Lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 5. Normally you need to be a Gold cardholder or flying in First class to experience these.

If you spend £2,500 per person or more and fly business class, you’ll be eligible for:

  • Admission to the First Wing at Terminal 5, including complimentary access to the Galleries First Lounge

The First Wing is a check-in area which has a dedicated security channel and then a corridor directly into the First lounge. I can be in the lounge with a glass of champagne in hand in around 6 minutes when it’s quiet!

You can’t add a hotel or car to an existing booking and then qualify for the offer but it does apply to qualifying existing bookings. Also, it says it is subject to capacity so there is a small chance you could still get turned away from the lounge or First wing!

It is interesting that the offer mentions that Priority boarding is returning from 21 June. Currently, they board from the back first which actually I quite like on short-haul as it’s less of a rush to get on first to find space as they only board 5 rows at a time.

This is also around the time that I expect BA outstation lounges to be accessible again. Currently, the majority of European lounges are open, but BA are not allowing customers access. You can, of course, enter with Priority Pass or by paying!

Claire Bentley, Managing Director of British Airways Holidays, said: “After the last year, we know how much our customers are looking forward to getting away this summer. We want to make their experience extra special as we welcome them back to travel, by helping them to begin their holiday in style.”

“It’s the first time we’ve offered something like this exclusively for British Airways Holidays customers – we believe it’s a brilliant way to celebrate the joy of travel, while continuing to offer flexibility and security for peace of mind.”

  1. Hi Michelle,

Just a typo I’ve spotted. In the body of text about the £1500pp offer you’ve written that passengers will receive First Lounge access, not Club Lounge access.

  2. Interesting.

So you can buy your way into the first lounge!

    So much for being exclusive.

  3. I think I’ve worked out how to book a holiday on a Greek island, flying Club from Manchester via Heathrow, to get Silver status. 10 days would be around £2500 + a bit, so this news got me even more excited… until I realised the there’s only an hour between wheels down at LHR T1 and departure from LHR T5. Also, Fast Track and lounge access is for holidays departing from LHR only – I’m thinking MAN departure thus excludes us from any of this!

    Bugger 🤣

    • Book the MAN separate for the evening before. Stay overnight. Enjoy the lounge!

      • To be fair, if I hadn’t just driven up to Manchester, I could drive home if I went the night before – I live in North London!

More thinking required, I guess 🤔

The BA offer re tier points sounds great until the T&Cs state one has to purchase two flights – so this offer totally excludes solo travellers.
