Turkish Airlines 40% off sale – prices from £892 business class return

Turkish Airlines have launched a massive sale with 40% off flights. The 40% off is off base fares to and from all destinations worldwide, in all classes.

Ticketing period January 13-14-15, 2021
Travel period April 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021

Given the long date range and the zero-fee change policy, it could be worth considering if you are chasing Star Alliance flights. You can read about the Turkish Airlines status match here. Another positive is that Turkish has one of the biggest route networks globally. Their lounges in Istanbul are also excellent and you may be able to squeeze in a short stopover of under 24 hours in Istanbul too. With the short flying time to Istanbul, the break in flights may be better than Qatar for many destinations as it will give a longer second flight for sleeping.

On the other side, Turkish are not known for their effective handling of customer services and they also have cut back on food service dramatically during COVID. Although Turkish brought in a solid new business class product, some aircraft still have fairly dated business class seats. The new business class is available on their B787-9s in a 1-2-1 configuration. These operate on routes such as Amsterdam, London, and  North/South America. Given the current state of flux, you should check the seating map before booking and consider the possibility of an aircraft swap.

One of the best routes with a great price and currently the new seats for both legs is Amsterdam to Bali – which Paul has already booked! However, some of the ex Amsterdam flights are on the A330 with the older seats. But given the flight is only a couple of hours, having a long haul seat at all is a novelty.

As usual, the best deals are ex-EU. Here is a selection of the best bargains.

Marriott offers discounted hotel redemptions

JW Marriott Venice. Italy

JW Marriott Venice. Italy

After the brief promotion during its Week of Wonders, discounted rates are available for redemptions if you book by 21 February. This time the stay window is much bigger with stays until 30 September 2021. Seeing as they are cancellable anyway, there is nothing to stop you taking a punt, although how much of that period is off-peak is hard to tell and when countries start to open up again is anyone’s guess!

All redemption pricing for participating hotels will be a 10% discount on off-peak rates.

You can find out more about redemption prices here.
