Hawaii 2021 from £1620

I have to say I am not in a rush to visit the US, but Hawaii is somewhere I would feel safe visiting. They have been pretty strict with COVID and are still not open for most visitors even from the US! There is a new airfare available which while nowhere near as good as we have seen recently, it still below the average price of £2200 for a flight from Europe. It is available until July 2021 so there is plenty of scope for things to have calmed down by then.

The fares are available with Skyteam or Star Alliance from Luxembourg and Amsterdam. Personally I would choose Delta from Skyteam or United or Air Canada for Star Alliance. These usually offer decent business class seats but it is hard to predict what they will offer in the current situation. Flights are available to other islands as well as Honolulu.

Hilton’s best ever promotion, this could be your chance to earn status easily!

Hilton Moorea

Hilton’s new points promotion is due to start on 8 September but details have been revealed ahead of time. Usually, the promotions go in an alternate patten between double points and a 2000 point bonus per stay.

This promotion has two aspects to it. The first is the usual one that registered Hilton Honors members will earn double Hilton Honors Bonus Points per stay during the Promotion Period. Double Bonus Points means you will receive a bonus equal to the number of Base Points earned during a stay.

But the big benefit is that you will get double nights credit too which means one additional, tier qualifying night credit will be awarded for each night stayed in the promo period.

The promotion period is from 8 September to 31 December 31, 2020. You will get the bonus night credit even if you check in before 8 September as long as check out is on after 8 September. This equally applies if you check-in before the 31 December but check out afterward. The same does not apply to the points which must be within the dates.

How many nights do I need for status and how will this make it super easy to get status?

  • Silver 10 nights
  • Gold 40 nights
  • Diamond 60 nights

Double nights will count towards Hilton Honors members’ 2020 night count and Hilton Honors previously announced that it will roll over all of your 2020 elite nights into 2021. This means that the bonus nights will count so it gives you until the end of 2021 to make status. With the double nights’ promotion you could make silver with just 5 nights before the end of the year. While silver does not get you much other than a bottle of water and extra points, it does mean you can use the 5 for 4 nights on rewards stays which is very useful.

You can find out more about what the different tiers get you in this article.

Hilton Honors members must register for the promotion before their stay (it can apply to existing bookings) at

    • I can still see the FAQ page. Have tried on different devices and browsers and it is there. The link to register may not be open yet as the promotion does not start until 8 September.

  1. Do you know if the double night credits work towards lifetime status?

    • I can’t see anything that states that it doesn’t. If it counts towards normal nights accrual, I can’t see why that would be different for lifetime.

  2. Hi Michele

Thanks for the update on Hilton.

As membership has been extended, do you know if a member still needs to stay once this year in order to retain their Hilton points?
