London to US from £923 business class return
TAP has a new business class sale on. TAP has become one of the best value airlines for travel to the US. Many routes have their brand new Airbus NEOS, the A330 and A321LR. These have a great business class product. Many US routes have now been downgraded to the smaller A321LR which have an alternating 1-1 and 2-2 layout and just 16 seats in business class. The flights are available from Heathrow and Gatwick and route via Lisbon or Porto.
Obviously, the current issue is that Portugal is on the red list. There have been questions raised about the validity of this since there are few cases of the Brazil variants actually known there. So I would only be booking these fares towards the end of the travel period to be on the safe side. TAP allows you one free change.
TAP is part of Star Alliance and if you want to find out more about collecting Star Alliance miles you can see our basic guide here.

Club 1 Hotels TLFL offer – get an extra 5% off the low prices
If you read a lot of the miles and points blogs, you may already be aware of Club 1 Hotels as they are well known in frequent flyer circles. Both Paul and I have been a member for some time. I have written about Club 1 Hotels a few times, but since there is a new special offer for TLFL readers and some improvements to the service, we thought it was worth an update. Club 1 Hotels feature many of my favourite luxury hotel brands such as Four Seasons, Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental, and Langham hotels. In addition, they have many other areas of travel with discounts such as flights and cruises.
Club 1 Hotels is a US-based private global travel club that provides wholesale rates at over 1 million hotels, 14 cruise lines, 12 car rental partners, 200+ airlines, and more. Unlike websites such as Last Minute Secret Hotels that do not disclose the exact hotel until you have already paid for the hotel, Club 1 Hotels Members shop by city, airport, brand and/or hotel name to get exactly what they want.
You no longer need to join as a member to use Club 1 Hotels – you just register for an account (free) and then everyone automatically earn 2% back in loyalty points and may also upgrade their subscription at any time to earn more rewards, concierge service and/or airport lounges. You can read about the paid membership services here.
You can also filter hotels with lots of different options such as clean/safe rating, pet friendly, green hotel, and more.
To give you an idea of the potential savings, one TLFL reader recently saved about $4,200 on their hotel in Mexico! Many of their rates are also refundable (make sure you check the hotel T&C on Club 1 Hotels).
Club 1 Hotels are offering an additional 5% off their first hotel booking (within 5-days of registration) when they use promo code “NM5”. You can see the offer and register on the special TLFL page here.
