For the last few years, prices on Qatar Airways from the UK have been ridiculously high compared to the competition. Today, Qatar Airways launches a new campaign inviting travellers to rediscover the places and moments you have been missing with new UK offers,  including special discounted fares to holiday destinations, up to 35% off your trip to visit friends and family, and free flights for kids, for travel up to 31 January 2022.* While travel is very uncertain right now, it could be a good time to lock in something later for the year to look forward to. Qatar Airways have a decent flexibility policy as well for peace of mind. The fact that this offer goes right up to next January, should give even the most cautious travellers reason to consider booking. However, you should note that their flexibility offer only covers travel until the end of 2021.

Book from 8 January at 00:01 until 15 January at 23:59 (Doha time) to get the sale prices. The World’s Best Airline is offering exclusive fares in Economy from £399 and Business class from £1,599 to destinations such as Bangkok, Thailand, Cape Town, South Africa, Seoul, South Korea, and the Seychelles.

If you are planning a family holiday, Qatar Airways’ offer for kids to fly free, (taxes and charges are applicable) is worth looking into but sadly it  is applicable on Economy “Convenience” and “Comfort” fare family only. The offer is applicable when the minimum number of passengers in the booking is 2 and the maximum is 8. Simply use promo code KIDS21. The airline is also offering savings of up to 35% off your next trip to visit your friends and/or family back home and a 40KG checked baggage allowance. This also only applies to economy flights. Use code FLYHOME21 (certain destinations only).

Qatar Airways offers unlimited date changes and fee-free refunds (but you have to pay fare differences) for all tickets issued before 30 April 2021, for travel completed by 31 December 2021. The carrier’s industry-leading flexible booking policy also provides the permanent feature of exchanging tickets for a travel voucher with 10% additional value for all customers booking travel via For full terms and conditions visit

If you are after tier points for British Airways, it makes more sense to fly indirect with Qatar if you are flying East. A round trip in business class gives 560 tier points to most long haul destinations on Qatar but only 280 with British Airways.

Here is the list of fares:

None of these are super cheap compared to an ex EU, however, given that testing, border rules etc may be around for a while longer, I am personally considering doing more point to point flights from the UK until things become more stable. Flights to Australia are around £3000 which is around £600-800 cheaper than usual.

In addition, Privilege Club members will earn double Qmiles when they book online, plus 50% bonus Qpoints when they book via the mobile app. Compliment you journey with 20% off of lounge access at the Award-winning Hamad International Airport, 20% off Al-Maha meet and greet services for a seamless journey, and 20%  off extra baggage allowance when you book online. 1. Hi Michele

Thanks as always for this … Might it be possible to also do an ex-EU fares sale analysis article as well (if presumably Qatar are also doing sales for these right now) to provide comparison points alongside, etc?

    Many thanks

    • Hi Guy. Yes I will do. Just swamped with news today, so I got the easy one out first! It takes a long time to do the full comparison but I should get it out later today.

  2. Excellent, thank you! Looking forward to it as always 🙂
