Well, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas despite all the last-minute restrictions. It was just a quiet one for me and I am now starting to think about travel for 2021 as the vaccine rollout looks like it will start to gain pace from the first week of January. There are some good sales around including the Virgin Atlantic one which we covered before.
First of all, let me share some escapism with my latest Forbes article. If you fancy a nose around the villas and houses the rich and famous escape to, have a look!
For most regular people, the pandemic has meant staring at the same four walls for months on end, dreaming of when we used to be allowed to travel. However, there are much more pleasant ways to while away the time during the coronavirus crisis for those with unlimited resources.
BA Sale extras
The BA sale actually has some pretty good prices and more importantly covers most of 2021. You can see all the best deals in this article. They have now added a couple of extra offers.
If you book a flight + hotel holiday to any destinations departing LHR terminal 5 with a minimum spend you can benefit from free lounge access.
To be eligible, the package booking must meet the following minimum spend criteria:
- Long haul travel where the package price is more than £1,500 per person (minimum two people per booking).
- Short haul or domestic travel where the package price is more than £1,000 per person (minimum two people per booking).
Travel must be between 9th January 2021 – 31st March 2021.
There is also an offer for 30% bonus Avios when you buy or gift Avios before 2 February 2021. The annual limit has been increased to purchase 200,000 Avios, not including the bonus Avios. However, I would strongly advise against buying them unless you will need them by 2 February. 30% is a very low bonus, as the standard bonus has been 50%. So I would wait until the next offer if you can. With this offer 10,000 Avios comes with a 3,000 bonus and costs £175.
Four Seasons sale
Four Seasons hotels rarely do sales, choosing to normally offer things such as an extra night instead. The current offer for 20% off is well worth a look as you can change your dates up to 24 hours before the stay. The catch is that you have to pre-pay in full for your stay.
There are a few stipulations:
- You must book by 31 December 2020.
- Minimum two-night stay
- Stays must be completed by 30 June 2021.
