Travelzoo offer: Superyacht Gibraltar hotel break inc flights £195pp
If you are looking to escape the cold this offer could be of interest. The offer is available via Travelzoo which you will have to join but there is no charge. It is one of my recommended travel websites which you can read about here. You can join here.
The break is for either 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7 nights and includes flights (hand baggage only) and accommodation including breakfast. You also get a 10% discount on any food and drink purchases. If you want to upgrade from the deluxe category of room or take checked in luggage both are possible for an extra fee. The Sunborn is Gibraltar’s only 5-star hotel and is also ranked number one on TripAdvisor. Given the small number of hotels and their standard in Gibraltar, that isn’t hard but it is scored 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor. The 142-metre yacht is permanently moored in the Ocean Village Marina and has views of The Rock. The hotel also offers an infinity swimming pool, a casino, a spa, a gym and a restaurant.
- Depart from London (Gatwick or Luton), Birmingham, Bristol or Manchester on select dates from 9 January-9 July; 18 September-30 October.
- Travel in August from £239 per person.
- Fly from London Heathrow from £239 per person.
Given that the hotel alone would normally cost around £170pp for 2 nights room only, this seems like an excellent value deal. You can more details on Travelzoo.
Vineyard at Stockcross offer from Secret Escapes
Secret Escapes is a members only website with hand-picked hotels, holidays and exclusive offers. They guarantee to offer the best rates online during a sale. Every week they run up to 140 short ‘flash sales’ lasting around ten days each. It is free to join and if you use this link to sign up you will receive £15 credit off your first booking.
They are currently offered a deal for £169 per room for 1 night which includes:
- Accommodation in a Luxury Double room
- Breakfast included
- One bottle of wine per room per stay
- You can also pay extra to upgrade to a deluxe suite
This is a reasonable deal as The Vineyard is normally around £175 per night minimum for room only. The hotel is situated near Newbury and was formerly a hunting lodge. It has a boutique style and is obviously focussed on wine with that name! Its facilities includes a heated pool, a sauna and steam room, plus treatments. I personally found the spa to be very dated and certainly not enough to visit the hotel for solely.
The restaurant, however, is worthy of a visit in its own right and does some excellent offers such as £29 for a 3 course lunch. The restaurant had previously been awarded 2 Michelin stars but now holds 3 AA rosettes. I personally thought that the hotel would be well worthy of regaining a Michelin star from the meals I have eaten there.
This offer is available for stays between January and April 2017 and is based on two adults only.
