OFFERS: British Airways Sale – What are the Best Deals?

  • 30/08/2024
  • Eugene

British Airways have followed suit with plenty of other airlines and have dropped their most recent end-of-summer sale.

It is available to book from now until 1st October with deals on flights and holidays for 2024 and 2025.

After an initial look, the sale doesn’t seem to be offering anything particularly exciting. The only real standout fares are to Doha and New York in Business Class. Obviously Doha provides great links and you could use some Avios for a connecting flight onwards from there.

We have put together a list of the lowest fares available.

In this post:

  • Flight Only (From London)
    • North America
    • Latin America and the Caribbean
    • South and Central Asia
    • Middle East and Africa

Club Europe

Fares in Club Europe have been ridiculously high for quite a while now. I find if you book far enough in advance, you can usually get a return in Club Europe for a reasonable price. If you have to book at short notice, you will likely have to pay a premium.

From September last year I tracked flights to Larnaca, Cyprus for a wedding I was attending. When prices were first released 355 days before departure, they were averaging £1000 return each. By December, January and February they had jumped to £1500 each. Then in early June they dropped from £1500 to £850 overnight which is when I booked. This was for August 24 travel dates and there were no sales but I used Google Flights alerts to alert me to price changes, which it did.

It goes to show, if you are brave you can save a decent amount of money by holding out. Albeit it’s quite risky.

There are some great holiday deals to be had. The below prices include Business Class flights and a minimum of a 4* hotel based on two sharing a room:

  • Algarve: 7 nights from £909 pp
  • Greece: 7 nights from £1399 pp
  • New York: 4 nights from £1829 pp
  • Dominican Republic: 7 nights from £2169 pp (all-inclusive)
  • Dubai: 7 nights from £2299 pp (half-board)

It’s worth remembering that British Airways are still running their Double Tier Points promotion when you book a flight along with a car or hotel until June 2025.

If the holiday package price is slightly more than you have seen elsewhere but you are chasing status it’s sometimes worth considering paying a little bit more to qualify for the double tier points because they can add up very quickly.

You must include a car or hotel for at least 5 days to qualify. You can find out more here.

You can find all information and best fares for the sale on BA’s Sale page here.

How about listing the CE prices from LGW also, your list only appears to show destinations served ex LHR

Direct from the UK that is good value. I hope you added hotels or cars to take advantage of the double tier points. Enjoy your trip. Sounds great!

If this is for one person this sounds expensive to me!
