Save 25% on Virgin Atlantic Reward Seats
From today, Virgin Red and Virgin Atlantic have joined forces to offer a flash points sale, with a decent 25% reduction on the points price for reward seats. This offer is available to members who book between 13–17 September 2024, for travel on or before 31 December 2024.
The sale covers all Virgin Atlantic routes and cabins. Here’s a quick glance at some of the discounted off-peak one way Upper Class flights:
- London Heathrow to New York – 35,625 Virgin Points (down from 47,500 points)
- London Heathrow to Las Vegas – 52,500 Virgin Points (down from 70,000 points)
- London Heathrow to Los Angeles – 50,625 Virgin Points (down from 67,500 points)
When you book a reward seat, you’re using your Virgin Points to cover the cost of your Virgin Atlantic flight fare or an upgrade. The only additional costs are taxes, fees, and carrier-imposed surcharges, which vary depending on your destination, travel season, and chosen cabin.

Make sure to tick the ‘Show Price in Points’ option under ‘Advanced search’, then click the arrow to see all the available reward seats. Remember it’s really easy to transfer Avios from Aer Lingus to other Oneworld airlines such as British Airways and Qatar.
Buying Avios for the sake of it isn’t usually a good investment. However, if you have your eyes on particular flights and need Avios to make this happen, then this might be a good option.
This is better than the 40% offered by British Airways last week but matches the current Finnair offer which we spoke about here.
If you do buy these just be careful of the conversion rate when paying in Euros from a UK card. Try to use a card that offers fee-free currency transactions within Europe.
