Flying Blue Launches Up to 45% Discount on Miles

Flying Blue, the loyalty programme of Air France and KLM, is offering up to 45% off miles until 30 April 2025. This is the second sale of the year and brings the cost down to around 1.23p per mile.

Flying Blue regularly runs mileage sales with either 100% bonuses or 50% off promotions, so it may be worth holding off if you’re looking for the absolute lowest cost per mile, unless you have a specific redemption in mind now.

Elite members can buy up to 300,000 miles per transaction with no annual cap, while Explorer members are limited to 100,000 miles per year. Miles are sold in increments of 2,000 up to 100,000, then in 25,000-mile blocks beyond that. Purchases can be made via the “Manage my Miles” section of your Flying Blue account. 

Flying Blue miles can be used for Promo Rewards (25–50% off select routes), competitive business class awards, and are the only way to book Air France’s La Première (for Platinum/Ultimate members).

Up to £100 Cashback on Hyatt Stays with Amex

A new targeted American Express offer has launched with Hyatt, and if you’re eligible, it’s one of the more generous hotel cashback promotions we’ve seen in a while.

Depending on the version you’ve been targeted for, you’ll either receive £100 back when you spend £250, or £75 back when you spend £300 at participating Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. That works out to an effective rebate of 40% or 25%, respectively, a strong incentive if you have a Hyatt stay coming up before 11 July 2025. I only have the £75 offer, and Katrina doesn’t have an offer at all, so if you are one of the lucky ones with £100 it’s definitely worth trying to use it. 

The promotion is valid at selected Hyatt properties across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. The full list of participating hotels can be found here.

Cumulative spend is allowed, so you don’t need to hit the full threshold in one go. While the terms state that only checkout spend qualifies, many pre-paid bookings have historically triggered the credit as well, although this isn’t officially guaranteed. The offer must be saved to your card in advance, which you can do via your Amex app or online account.

This is an excellent return on a hotel stay if you’re heading to Europe or the Middle East and have Hyatt in mind. £100 back on a £250 stay is as good as it gets for hotel cashback, so if you’re sitting on this version, it’s worth locking it in and planning a trip around it.

Delta Air Lines Axes London–Orlando Route

In a surprise move, Delta Air Lines has quietly dropped its London Heathrow to Orlando service for winter 2025/26, less than a year after it was first announced in July 2024. The route, which launched in October 2024 with four weekly flights, was Delta’s only direct connection between Florida and the UK.

While never intended to be a year-round service, its swift disappearance from the winter schedule suggests the route may not have performed as expected during the off-peak months. There’s no word yet on whether it will return for summer 2026.

Delta is redirecting its Heathrow slots to strengthen its Seattle–London Heathrow route. From late October 2025, service will increase from three flights per week to daily, restoring pre-winter 2024 capacity.

Virgin Atlantic, Delta’s joint venture partner, also operates a daily flight on this route, meaning there’ll now be two daily options between Seattle and Heathrow.

It’s a bold (and slightly embarrassing) reversal for Delta to cut Orlando so soon after touting its return. That said, shifting resources to Seattle makes sense. It’s a key hub, has strong business traffic, and fits better with Delta’s joint venture ambitions.
