EAT
Sardinia is distinct from mainland Italy in culture, dialect, and geography, but the two share a strong connection through food. With a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients, eating in Sardinia is as much about enjoying the moment as it is about the meal.
In towns and villages, you’re never far from an authentic trattoria offering generous plates of pasta, seafood, and suckling pig – a Sardinian classic.
For great food without high prices, try Babeuf in Cagliari, where the changing menu features local ingredients in a relaxed setting. Seafood fans should visit La Peschiera in Porto Pino, a local favourite known for its traditional cooking and fresh catches. In Alghero, Movida serves rustic Sardinian fare with regional red wine, Cannonau.

For something more high-end, Zuma delivers quality Japanese cuisine, and Novikov offers a small menu of Asian favourites. La Terrazze Ritual, a rooftop restaurant in the ruins of a centuries-old castle, serves Sardinian dishes alongside Mediterranean tapas. For a special occasion, Italo Bassi’s Michelin-starred Confusion Restaurant is the place to go.
STAY

Sardinia has accommodation options for all kinds of travellers. For relaxed luxury, Romazzino, A Belmond Hotel offers a private beach and sea views in a peaceful coastal setting. Similarly, Hotel Cala di Volpe, a Luxury Collection Hotel, sits on a scenic bay with a saltwater pool and a Shiseido spa.
Families might prefer Hotel Il Castello at Forte Village, which has a laid-back feel and facilities for all ages. For those looking for a more affordable luxury escape, visiting in May-June or September-October can mean lower prices, good weather, and fewer tourists.
YACHT
Seeing Sardinia by yacht is a great way to experience the island’s coastline. Chartering a boat lets you explore hidden coves, quiet beaches, and lively marinas at your own pace. If you’re new to sailing, day trips are a good starting point, while overnight charters offer a more in-depth experience.

From the harbour at Portisco, you can sail to the Maddalena Archipelago, known for its clear waters and unspoiled beaches. To keep costs down, consider sharing a yacht charter with other couples or groups.
PLAY
Sardinia’s landscape is perfect for a wide range of activities. History fans can visit ancient sites, especially in Cagliari, the capital. Nature lovers can head out on hikes, with early morning walks offering beautiful views and a peaceful start to the day. There’s also plenty of water-based fun – think dolphin spotting, paddleboarding, and boat trips to Neptune’s Grotto, a dramatic cave near Alghero.

For something different, check out Spiaggia di Piscinas on the Costa Verde, home to Europe’s tallest sand dunes, often called the “Little Sahara of Italy.” Or explore by bike – it’s a great way to see more of the island and discover hidden spots along the way.

Sardinia offers a great mix of natural beauty and local charm, with plenty of ways to enjoy it without spending a fortune.

Any hint as to when you will do a full review of Winged Boots? I want to know which specific preferred partner hotel schemes they can book e.g. Vita for LHW, Privé for Hyatt, etc.
Hi Toby, this is in the works. We should have it soon.
