Most of the deals are fairly underwhelming; however, the Aer Lingus sale is showing some fantastic fares from £1052 return to the US, which have not been seen for a long time from London. You won’t earn BA tier points unless it’s a code share, but at least you can earn Avios!
The other great deal if you are looking for an Avios redemption is Iberia’s up to 60% off Avios redemptions. Their redemption rates are often cheaper than flying BA, so there are some real bargains to be had.
Airlines
Iberia – up to 60% off Avios redemptions

You can travel on Iberia, Iberia Express, and Air Nostrum. You’ll need to have an Iberia Plus account, but you can instantly transfer Avios across from BA.

Im confused by the Aer Lingus comment about no tier points. When it was exec club, booking a Qatar airways flight via the Qatar airways website and entering your BA exec club details upon booking, resulted in you being awarded BA tier points and avios even though it was a Qatar flight number AND Qatar metal.
I would therefore assume the same still applies.
In relation to Aer Lingus flights, booking at Aer Lingus . com (dub to mia), one of the options is dub to lhr then lhr to mia ALL on BA metal but with EI flight numbers. Are you suggesting that option that would now not get you Tier Points? I thought that for “cheap” business class you got 25% of the distance flown – and the same for Qatar?
Please clarify someone as about to book!
Many thanks
Qatar is a full member of OneWorld, so when booking Qatar you can enter any OW membership number and be credited accordingly. Air Lingus isn’t a OW member: it uses Avios as reward currency because it’s part of the IAG holding company.
Yes , I too am confused about the Aer Lingus comment as the BA website suggests that BA tier points are awarded now on AL flights ( I know that was not always the case but was changed a few years ago from memory )
