BA Launches Three Seasonal Short-Haul Routes
BA Cityflyer will fly even more routes next summer with three new European routes just announced.
Glasgow to San Sebastián

From 18th July to 8th September 2026, there will be twice-weekly flights between Glasgow and San Sebastián in addition to existing services from Edinburgh (seasonal) and London City. There’s a lovely beach, an old town and plenty of incredible bars and restaurants to try.
Flight times will be as follows:
GLA-EAS: 15:15-18:40 (Tue) / 07:35-11:00 (Sat)
EAS-GLA: 19:25-20:55 (Tue) / 11:45-13:15 (Sat)
This follows BA’s recently announced seasonal service from Glasgow to Mallorca, starting on 9th May.
London City to Toulon Saint-Tropez, France

From 23rd May to 1st September 2026, BA Cityflyer will operate twice-weekly flights from London City to Toulon Saint-Tropez, which is the closest airport to Saint-Tropez at around 30 miles, with much less overland faff than other options.
LCY-TLN: 15:50-18:50 (Tue) / 07:00-10:00 (Sat)
TLN-LCY: 19:35-20:40 (Tue) / 10:45-11:50 (Sat)
This will be BA Cityflyer’s fourth French destination, joining Nice, Bergerac and Chambéry.
London Stansted to Olbia, Sardinia
There will also be a twice-weekly service from London Stansted to Olbia operating between 23rd May and 27th September on Saturdays and Sundays. The flights complement existing departures from Heathrow and London City. Olbia is the gateway to Sardinia’s north east, with clear water and beaches along the Costa Smeralda.
OLB-STN: 11:55-13:40 (Sat) / 18:35-20:20 (Sat)
STN-OLB: 14:15-17:45 (Sat) / 08:50-12:30 (Sun)
All flights will be operated by Embraer 190 aircraft, which have Economy and Club Europe both in a 2-2 layout. These additions will bring BA Cityflyer’s route map to almost 30 destinations.
Air France to Launch Gatwick Flights

From 29th March 2026, Air France will launch two daily flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and London Gatwick:
CDG-LGW: 09:20-09:30 / 15:45-15:55
LGW-CDG: 10:30-12:40 / 17:10-19:20
The times have been scheduled to complement the existing six daily Heathrow flights and improve connections at Charles de Gaulle, where you can transfer onto 170 destinations in 73 countries and have easier access to the aspirational Air France First (La Première).
Air France previously operated from Gatwick before moving all flights to Heathrow. This is excellent news if Gatwick is a more convenient option for you, and we may well see lower-priced fares. If you regularly fly from Gatwick to CDG with EasyJet, you’ll now have a more premium experience with the ability to earn miles and status.
It seems more and more airlines are diversifying away from just serving Heathrow. Many airlines have recently announced Gatwick flights, including Condor and Jet2. Airlines also seem to be launching flights to a more diverse range of UK airports.
Temporary Cardiff Route
From 13th to 16th February 2026, there will be 12 special flights between Paris CDG and Cardiff to coincide with the Six Nations championship. From Wales, you can fly direct to Paris for the Valentine’s Day weekend! The new flights will be operated by Airbus A220 aircraft.
Virgin Red Launches New Partnership With Capital On Tap

Virgin Red has unveiled a new partnership with Capital on Tap. You can now transfer Capital on Tap Points into Virgin Points at the following rates:
- Free Card – Capital on Tap Business Credit Card: 10:8
- £299 per year Card – Capital on Tap Pro Business: 1:1
To make this work, you just need to link your accounts. There’s no minimum, and the process is usually instant.
This adds a huge amount of flexibility to Capital on Tap Points. You can use points for high-value redemptions such as Virgin flights upgrades and Virgin voyages cruises. You can also redeem Virgin Points with other SkyTeam partners such as Air France and Delta. Virgin is an excellent addition alongside existing transfer partners such as BA and Qatar.
Capital on Tap is a credit card and spend management platform which already supports more than 200,000 small businesses. Its Visa cards are open to companies registered as an Ltd or LLP with a turnover of over £24,000. The card is a great backup (or main) card to have, given the range of places that don’t accept Amex.
Damian Brychcy, CEO at Capital on Tap, said:
“Our mission has always been to champion small businesses by making their lives easier and their money go further. Partnering with Virgin Red adds a powerful new dimension to our rewards program. It gives our customers the flexibility to turn everyday business expenses into meaningful experiences—whether that’s offsetting the cost of a business trip to New York with Virgin Atlantic or treating a hard-working team to a Virgin Experience Day.”
This is great news, especially if you’ve moved over to SkyTeam or you have a Virgin redemption in mind. You can read our guide – how to spend Virgin Points for inspiration.
