New airline to earn and redeem Virgin Points
Last year, Virgin Atlantic and WestJet introduced a code-share agreement. The WestJet Group is Canada’s leading low-cost airline with more than 100 destinations across North America, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. Now the two airlines have announced a significant expansion of their partnership, with full reciprocal loyalty benefits for Flying Club and WestJet Rewards members. Effective immediately, members can earn and redeem points across both carriers’ entire networks, including all codeshare itineraries.
Here are the key benefits for Virgin Points collectors:
-
Members can now earn Virgin Points and Tier Points on all WestJet-operated flights, whether booked as a Virgin Atlantic (VS) codeshare or directly as a WestJet (WS) flight.
-
Virgin Points can be redeemed for reward seats across WestJet’s domestic Canadian, transborder, and international network.
-
To support increased demand, Virgin Atlantic will deploy its flagship Airbus A350-1000 (397 seats) on the Toronto–London Heathrow route for the Summer 2026 season.
- Both carriers operate out of Terminal 3 at Toronto Pearson for an easy transit.

Here are the rates that you will earn as a Virgin Flying Club member:

Virgin Points

You can also redeem your Virgin points for WestJet flights at the following rates:
Given that WestJet is a low-cost airline, I would certainly be checking the cash price of a flight before redeeming my Virgin Points for it. They do offer a business class product to London on their B787, which is well regarded. This would most likely be the best value for a redemption and gives a good option for a miles booking direct to the west coast of Canada. Their business class consists of 16 private pods in a 1-2-1 configuration. These are reverse-herringbone seats (Super Diamond), 22 inches wide, that convert to a 79-inch lie-flat bed. They also offer a “Dine anytime” service allowing passengers to choose when they eat from a restaurant-style menu.

“Our partnership with WestJet continues to strengthen, providing our Flying Club members more choice and connectivity in how they fly between Canada, the UK and beyond. We’re pleased to deliver more ways for our customers to earn and burn through Flying Club.”
Juha Jaervinen, Virgin Atlantic Chief Customer Officer
WestJet redemptions can’t be booked online, so you would need to phone the Virgin Flying Club to book. You can find all the details on the official Flying Club WestJet page here.

20% discount on Hyatt Points

Hyatt has just launched its first “buy points” promotion of 2026 which is available until 7 April 2026. In contrast to most other hotel points promotions, Hyatt is offering a 20% discount on points purchases rather than a bonus.
You must buy at least 3,000 points to trigger the discount and you can buy 55,000 points (pre-discount) per calendar year.
To purchase the maximum of 55,000 Hyatt points with the current 20% discount promotion, the total cost would be $1,144 (Standard Price $1,430.00).
You can find the buy points page here.
