Heathrow to Dundee Flights to End

Loganair will stop flying between Dundee and London Heathrow from 18th September 2026, following a review of the Public Service Obligation (PSO) route. However, Dundee is unlikely to lose its London link entirely.
The service is subsidised by the Scottish Government, UK Government and Dundee City Council. The Dundee-London PSO has operated since 2014, initially to Stansted, before moving to London City in 2020 and then Heathrow in 2023, where it has been useful for onward connections.
Passenger numbers have been much lower than originally forecast, and the connecting traffic hoped for from Heathrow has not come through.
It’s not just Dundee that will be affected; some seasonal flights continue to Kirkwall in Orkney or Sumburgh in Shetland and are important for island connections. Loganair will continue to run routes to the islands from Dundee, but the onward flight to Heathrow will be withdrawn. However, Loganair is reviewing alternative London airport options, and discussions with funding providers are ongoing.
If you’ve booked to travel after 18th September, keep an eye on your booking for changes.
The Hilton Summer Sale is Back

Hilton has just launched its 2026 summer sale, and this year, Hilton Honors members can save up to 20% on stays in Europe and Africa.
Bookings must be made by 3rd September, and stays must be completed by 7th September 2026.
Stays are generally limited to weekends, covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and blackout dates apply. Sale rates are for the Best Flexible room rate, non-refundable and require pre-payment. You must also book at least 3 days in advance of your stay.
When you search via the rate calendar, you will see THE HILTON SALE HONORS rate displayed if the hotel has the sale rate available on your dates. These rates are not always room-only; some hotels also offer discounted B&B, all-inclusive, or other package rates. Some hotels may only apply the sale to higher room categories.
If you’re planning a summer trip to Europe or Africa, it’s worth checking what’s available. 20% off can really add up, especially at high-end properties.
Flying Blue: Up to 5,000 Miles with Hertz

To celebrate the FIFA World Cup, Flying Blue are awarding up to 5,000 bonus miles for car rentals booked with Hertz before 31st May, with collection by 30th September. The amount you earn depends on the length of the rental, including:
- 1-2 days – 1,000 miles
- 3-4 days – 2,000 miles
- 5-7 days – 3,000 miles
- 8-10 days – 4,000 miles
- 11-28 days – 5,000 miles
The bonus miles are on top of the existing Flying Blue Hertz benefits, which include 15% off rentals, 6-10 Flying Blue miles per €1 spent, depending on your status tier (or 12 per €1 for electric vehicles) and a 500-mile bonus on your first rental.
As a Platinum status holder, if you spent €900 (£778) on an 11-day rental for the first time, you would receive 5,000 miles, 8,100 base miles (9 miles per €1), and the 500-mile first-rental bonus, adding 13,600 miles to your account!
You must make your booking at a participating location through the offer page, and rentals must be between 1 and 28 days. Your Flying Blue number must be added at booking, and you won’t receive rewards or status in the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards loyalty programme. Miles will be awarded 6-8 weeks after you return the vehicle.
It’s still worth comparing prices with other car rental companies first. While up to 5,000 bonus miles is great, you may find a cheaper rate elsewhere, and there are also plenty of other ways to earn miles with car hire via Flying Blue and other airline loyalty programmes.
