Save Up to 30% on IHG Hotels This Summer – But Book Fast

If you’re planning a summer getaway, IHG One Rewards has launched a new Destination Deals promotion offering members up to 30% off stays across hundreds of participating hotels worldwide.
The sale is available for bookings made by 28 June 2026, with stays valid from 26 June to 9 August 2026.
IHG One Rewards members can save:
- 30% at participating luxury, lifestyle and premium brands, including InterContinental, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, voco, Crowne Plaza, Regent and Vignette Collection.
- 30% at participating hotels across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Greater China.
- 25% at selected Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and other essential brands across the Americas.
The promotion covers hundreds of destinations worldwide, including several in the UK. Participating hotels include locations in Cambridge, Chester, Colchester, Ipswich, Norwich, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Bradford, Newport, Neath and Wakefield, along with hotels across popular European destinations including Madrid, Malaga, Marbella, Naples, Istanbul and Baku.
Unlike many hotel sales, these rates aren’t prepaid. You’ll usually be able to cancel free of charge up to seven days before arrival, making the offer a little more flexible than many discounted rates. Reservations must be made at least three days before your stay.
As always, it’s worth comparing the Destination Deals rate against other offers, including Advance Purchase and any corporate or member discounts you may have access to. While the advertised saving is up to 30% off the Best Flexible Rate, another promotional rate may still work out cheaper depending on the hotel and your travel dates.
The sale excludes some brands, including Six Senses, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts and IHG Army Hotels.
If you’ve been considering a UK staycation or a European city break this summer, it’s worth checking whether your chosen hotel is participating before the offer ends on 28 June.
Rome Airport May Ease New EU Border Checks to Avoid Summer Queues

It looks like Greece isn’t the only country struggling with the EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES).
The CEO of Aeroporti di Roma, which operates Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, has warned that the new biometric border checks could cause major delays this summer and says the airports may have to suspend some of the enrolment process to keep passengers moving.
Under EES, non-EU travellers, including UK passport holders, are required to have their fingerprints and a facial image recorded when entering the Schengen Area for the first time.
Speaking to the Financial Times, CEO Marco Troncone said: “The process proves to be incompatible with the peak volumes that we are going to face,” adding that there was “no way” the airports could carry out checks on every passenger during the busiest periods.
The comments come just days after Greece confirmed it would temporarily waive biometric enrolment for UK travellers this summer to help avoid long queues.
With airport bosses across Europe continuing to warn that the system isn’t coping with peak passenger numbers, it seems increasingly likely that more airports could adopt similar measures over the coming weeks.
If you’re travelling to Europe this summer, it’s still worth allowing a little extra time at the airport, but for now it appears keeping queues moving is taking priority over a full rollout of the new system.
Save Up to 35% on Meliá City Hotels This Summer

If you’re planning a city break this summer, Meliá has launched a promotion offering savings of up to 35% at selected city hotels.
The offer is available on bookings made between by 13th July 2026, with discounts of up to 25%, plus an extra 10% off when you use the promotional code CITYLOVERS10 at checkout.
The sale includes a number of popular city destinations, including London and Barcelona, making it a good opportunity if you’re planning a summer weekend away.
One hotel we’d particularly recommend is the ME London, which is included in the promotion. We recently stayed at the hotel and were impressed by its excellent location on the Strand, stylish rooms and the rooftop bar with fantastic views across London. You can read our full review here.
As with any hotel sale, it’s worth comparing the promotional rate with other discounts you may have access to, but if you’re looking at a Meliá property this summer, the additional 10% off could make this one of the better offers currently available.
