Up to 12,000 AMEX Membership Rewards Points for Adding a Supplementary Cardholder
Amex has brought back its supplementary cardholder bonus until 31st October when you add the first one to your card.
Bonuses include:
- Platinum: 12,000 Membership Rewards Points up from 5,000
- Gold: 9,000 Membership Rewards Points up from 3,000
- Marriott: 6,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points up from 3,000
There is also a bonus of 6,000 Nectar Points for the Nectar AMEX (up from 3,000) and 5,000 Membership Rewards points for the Rewards Credit Card (up from 2,000).
12,000 points is a great offer. You can convert that into 12,000 Avios, Virgin Points, and more. Supplementary cardholders of the Platinum Card also get access to extra benefits such as hotel status and Priority Pass lounge access. 9,000 Points is also fantastic for a card that’s free for the first year! There’s no spend threshold, and it’s free to add your first one (then it varies by card).
Holding a supplementary card also doesn’t count as having an Amex card, so it won’t affect their future eligibility for sign-up bonuses.

Up to 70% Virgin Buy Points Bonus
Virgin has relaunched its lucrative Buy Points bonus. Unlike many airline and hotel loyalty programmes, there can be fantastic value in buying Virgin Points if you use them for the right redemptions.
Until 4th October 2026, you can receive a bonus of up to 70% when you Buy or Gift Virgin Points, depending on how many points you purchase:
- Under 5,000 points – no bonus
- 5,000-39,000 points – 20% bonus
- 40,000-79,000 points – 40% bonus
- 80,000-124,000 points – 60% bonus
- 125,000-400,000 points – 70% bonus
Points cost £15 per 1,000 points plus a £15 transaction fee. Virgin has reset the annual purchase limit for this promotion, so you can buy up to 400,000 points regardless of how many points you’ve already bought this year.
At the maximum, 400,000 points would cost £6,015 including the transaction fee. With the 70% bonus, you’d receive 680,000 Virgin Points in total, bringing the cost down to just 0.88p per point.
This could be enough for rewards such as a five-night stay at Virgin Limited Edition’s Mont Rochelle in South Africa or a six-night Virgin Voyages sailing around the Southern Caribbean.
If you’re planning a cash booking, run the numbers to see whether purchasing points would offer better value for money. Remember to also include the taxes, fees, and charges, which can be high for premium cabin redemptions. Points should appear in your account within 24 hours.
30% Off Virgin Active Memberships with Virgin Points: Good Value?
You can now get 30% off a Virgin Active membership when using Virgin Points until 30th September. The pass includes unlimited classes, gym and pool access, use of the Virgin Active app and two guest passes.

The value of paying with Virgin Points during this offer varies by club. For example, at Salford Quays, you’d normally pay £94 per month for a rolling monthly membership, so you’re getting a value of 1.03p per point in comparison to the 0.5p value we often see with non-flight redemptions. Chiswick has a rolling monthly cost of £404, giving a similar value of 1.01p per point.
On top of that, Virgin Active Memberships often come with a substantial joining fee, and we’re almost certain this is waived, adding even more value per point! At Chiswick, factoring in the usual £250 joining fee pushes the redemption value to 1.64p per point.
Once you’ve redeemed your points, you’ll receive a voucher code which you can use until 31st December 2026. Membership begins on the 1st of the calendar month following activation.
You must not have been a Virgin Active member in the last 30 days to qualify, but you can also gift membership.
Keep in mind it works like a trial: you provide bank details, and your membership continues onto a 12-month contract if you don’t cancel before the 20th of the final month of your reward period.
