New Delta One Business class experience

Yesterday, Delta unveiled the next era of Delta One, the latest in a series of airlines competing to offer the best premium products. AA and BA have both recently announced upgrades to their premium services. Delta One was pretty good anyway, as it was among the first US airlines to introduce suites. Delta are part of Skyteam so you can use your Virgin, Air France or SAS miles to book with them.

This will be the airline’s largest investment to date, building upon more than $1 billion invested in the fleet.

The overhaul is available first on transoceanic Delta One routes departing Los Angeles International Airport this autumn, and then it will expand across the full global network in early 2027.

“Delta’s fully reimagined experience is rooted in solving real customer needs and desires, with intentionality behind every detail,” said Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s Chief Marketing and Product Officer. “Every investment we make is deliberate and designed to deliver the industry’s most premium end-to-end travel experience. This elevated dining and hospitality experience reflects our relentless focus on raising the bar while giving customers greater control throughout their journey.”

Delta One: What’s new

There’s a refreshed menu centred on elevated classics, featuring top-of-the-line ingredients and additions like the new Delta One® Wagyu burger, regionally inspired Hong Kong-style Sea Bass and a Champagne Taittinger sorbet pairing.

Highlights include:

  • Delta One® Wagyu beef burger with caramelised onions, cheddar cheese and cornichons on a lightly toasted brioche bun — cooked and plated to ensure this highest-quality beef product consistently delights
  • Roasted Sea Bass with tomato tarragon sauce, grilled asparagus and parsley mashed potatoes
  • Regional twist: Grilled Salmon with ginger soy sauce, asparagus, eggplant and mushrooms flying [US – HND Delta One Feb. 2027]
  • Braised lamb entrée with red wine demi-glace, lyonnaise potatoes, grilled asparagus and wilted spinach
  • Beef short rib with red wine demi-glace, haricot vert, baby carrots, roasted shallot and potato gratin
  • Rich and creamy seasonally rotating risotto maintains texture at altitude and features wild mushrooms, parmesan cheese, roasted zucchini obliques and cherry tomatoes
  • Macaroni and cheddar cheese topped with garlic breadcrumbs
  • A chicken Caesar salad entrée featuring crisp romaine, parsley, parmesan and Caesar dressing
  • Chicken salad croissant, hummus and crudité — each a new addition, offered as mid- flight meal
  • The best part of any US airline: the ice cream cart now features upgraded options and a generous amount of choice:
    • The Classic sundae topped with a new signature chocolate sauce, Amarena premium preserved cherries and pecan praline crumble — garnished with a soft and airy doughnut
    • A new dairy-free sorbet paired with (optional) Champagne Taittinger float adds a light, elegant and refreshing after-dinner option
  • As an alternative, there’s a Napa Valley-inspired fruit and cheese platter that brings together flavours from Northern California and features Cowgirl Creamery’s Mt. Tam and Hop Along cheese, Cypress Grove’s Humboldt Fog cheese and Rustic Bakery’s Artisan Crisps.

Alongside this there will be a new service experience and new tableware. Customers will have more choice, with expanded pre-select options including gluten-free meals, lighter fare, and pre-arrival selections for customers prioritising rest, while main course pre-selection is now available for six more hours before the flight (18 hours pre-departure). Customers on long-haul flights who prefer to maximise sleep can opt to skip the morning meal service and instead enjoy a coffee and croissant before landing.

For bourbon lovers, there’s a partnership with Blanton’s: Customers can now enjoy one of bourbon’s most sought-after labels, a single-barrel bourbon renowned for its rarity.

Delta One wines have been developed with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson and SkyMiles customers includes Napa favorites, global labels, plus an expansion on the well-established Champagne Taittinger partnership. One of the new wines is Silver Oak, retailing at over $200 per bottle.DASSAI 45 Sake joins Delta One on flights to and from Tokyo-Haneda (HND). The cocktail and mocktail program featuring both alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices will now offer the Hugo Spritz and the Paloma.

There are new Missoni amenity kits as well. The new Winter Elsewhere collection debuts alongside a new Missoni Mini pillow on transoceanic Delta One flights for enhanced comfort and rest.

Launching on 3 November, Delta’s newest Delta One Missoni amenity kit brings the Winter Elsewhere collection to the skies with a nature-inspired design and a first-of-its-kind wrist strap created for use after landing. Inside, customers will find a curated assortment of premium essentials, including exclusive Grown Alchemist skincare, a Marvis dental kit and Missoni-branded comfort items.

As sleep remains a priority for Delta One customers, Delta will also introduce a Missoni Mini pillow to replace the current cuddle pillow, which will expand to all transoceanic Delta One routes, complementing the mattress pad, slippers and eye mask.

The Porsche One partnership expands from 40 to 70 hybrid vehicles across 15 key airports and hubs by 2028 for Delta One customers booking VIP Select services.

Save £200 on Air France with American Express

A new offer has appeared on my Amex Platinum, which is worth a look if you have any long-haul business class flights planned. It could be on other cards as well, in particular the Gold Amex, so it is worth checking your cards.

The offer gives a £200 statement credit when you make one or more transactions totalling £2,000+ online at Air France by 4/11/2026. Airline tickets are generally valid for a year, so you can potentially use the offer for travel until November 2027.

The only catch is that it is only valid on flights departing from UK airports, but obviously that can include connecting flights. It is only valid online, not for phone bookings.

SAS Eurobonus flash sale on flight redemptions

SAS Eurobonus has a flash sale with 20% off all award trips for four days only. Even if you don’t usually collect SAS miles, SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) is a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards in the UK. U.K. Membership Rewards points convert to SAS EuroBonus points at a 1:1 ratio (1 Amex point = 1 EuroBonus point). Their reward flights are generally good value, with the taxes and charges element being reasonably priced.

The offer applies to one-way and return journeys in Economy Bonus and Business Bonus. And as usual, children 2-11 years old get 50% of the point price, even on the already discounted price.

You must book by 18 October 2026, but you can travel between 1 November 2026 and 31 March 2027. There is 20% off on both Economy Bonus and Business Bonus. The point discount is only available for SAS Bonus tickets. It is not available when you mix points and cash, and for regular tickets for points.

Once you are logged in, it should show you the discounted price.

You can find the offer page here.
