Dragonpass Launches New Lounge Memberships From £59 – Are They Worth It?

With changes to the British Airways Club making it harder for some members to retain their status, travellers facing the loss of their BA Silver or Gold lounge access may be looking at alternatives.

Dragonpass has launched three annual memberships that can be purchased directly, starting at £59 per year. They offer access to more than 1,400 airport lounges worldwide, with higher tiers also offering airport dining and Fast Track benefits.

How Much Do They Cost?

Membership Annual price Included passes Guest access
Solo Travel £59 2 Member only
Better Travel £229 8 Share with one guest
Travel Together £329 12 Share with up to five guests

The £59 Solo Travel membership is particularly appealing for occasional travellers, working out at £29.50 per lounge visit if both passes are used.

The two higher tiers offer more flexibility, allowing passes to be used for airport dining or Fast Track security at participating locations. All three memberships also include a complimentary travel eSIM.

Is It Good Value for Couples and Families?

The £329 Travel Together membership allows you to share passes with up to five accompanying guests, but there’s something important to consider.

Each person entering a lounge uses one pass. A family of four would therefore use four of the twelve included passes on a single visit, meaning the membership covers just three family visits.

That works out at approximately £27.42 per person per visit, assuming all twelve passes are used.

It’s not necessarily bad value, but worth comparing against booking lounges directly, particularly where children receive discounted entry.

For couples, the £229 Better Travel membership provides four lounge visits together, working out at £28.63 per person.

What Else Should You Consider?

Priority Pass remains another option, although Dragonpass’s ability to share passes and use them for other airport services is worth considering.

Before purchasing, check whether you already receive lounge access through your credit card, bank account or airline status.

Lounge entry isn’t guaranteed, particularly during busy periods, so it’s worth checking which lounges participate at the airports you regularly use.

Memberships last twelve months, and unused passes cannot be carried over.

For BA members who are unlikely to retain Silver or Gold status, Dragonpass could be a useful alternative. It won’t provide access to BA’s own lounges, but paying for occasional visits could be considerably cheaper than spending more on flights simply to retain status.

You can view the memberships and participating lounges on the Dragonpass website.

easyJet Announces Starlink Wi-Fi Across Its Fleet From 2027

For years, one of the advantages of flying British Airways over easyJet has been the ability to stay connected in the air. While BA passengers have been able to browse the internet, send messages and catch up on work, easyJet customers have had to manage without onboard Wi-Fi.

That gap is about to close, with easyJet announcing that it will introduce high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet from 2027.

The airline has partnered with SpaceX to install Starlink on its Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo aircraft, with the rollout beginning in the first half of 2027 and expected to be completed by early 2028.

Starlink uses low-Earth-orbit satellites to provide faster, more reliable internet than many traditional inflight Wi-Fi systems. Passengers will be able to stream films, browse the internet, play games and work online, using their own devices throughout the flight.

One important detail remains unclear: easyJet hasn’t confirmed whether the Wi-Fi will be free or whether passengers will have to pay.

British Airways became the first UK airline to introduce Starlink in March 2026, initially installing the technology on its Boeing 787-8 aircraft. BA is rolling out free Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet, with short-haul aircraft due to follow in 2027.

It’s another sign that high-speed inflight connectivity is becoming an expectation rather than a premium benefit.

Amex Offers £75 Cashback on UK Hotel Stays – Including Luxury Properties

American Express Logo

American Express has brought back its Amex Stays offer, giving eligible cardholders £75 cashback when spending £300 or more at participating hotels.

That’s a 25% saving if you spend exactly £300, making it a particularly good deal for a weekend away or a night at a luxury hotel.

The offer runs until 30 November 2026, but there’s no need to complete your stay by then. Both prepaid bookings and payments made at checkout qualify, provided the eligible transaction is charged to your Amex card before the deadline.

You’ll need to save the offer to your card before spending, and it’s available on selected American Express cards, including some British Airways Amex cards.

Which Hotels Are Included?

There’s a good selection of luxury and independent hotels across the UK, including:

  • London: The Lanesborough, Hotel Café Royal, The Londoner, Sea Containers, Broadwick Soho and The Carlton Tower Jumeirah.
  • Elsewhere in England: The Headland in Cornwall, Hambleton Hall in Rutland, The Milner in York and Celtic Manor in Newport.
  • Scotland: 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh, Cromlix near Stirling and Rusacks St Andrews.

There are also a handful of international properties, including Pulitzer Amsterdam, Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam and several hotels in Spain.

One particularly useful detail is that some participating hotels are affiliated with loyalty programmes such as IHG One Rewards, GHA DISCOVERY and Jumeirah One, so you may be able to combine the cashback with hotel loyalty benefits or points, depending on the booking channel and eligibility.

How to Make the Most of the Offer

The £300 threshold must be met in a single transaction, and you can only receive the £75 cashback once, regardless of how many participating hotels you visit.

For example, a £320 hotel stay would effectively cost £245 after cashback, which is a substantial saving.

It’s also worth checking whether your chosen hotel allows prepaid bookings for future dates. That could make the offer useful for Christmas breaks or even trips next year, as long as payment is taken before 30 November.

Some participating hotels also allow eligible restaurant spending to count towards the offer, even without an overnight stay, although this only applies to specific properties.

Before booking, check the full participating hotel list and the terms attached to your individual Amex offer. Not every cardholder will see it, and not every hotel is eligible.

You can check whether you’ve been targeted in the Offers section of your American Express account.

As far as I know, StarLink have made it mandatory that Wi-Fi should be provided for free, it was part of their service agreements with airlines. So I don’t think they’ll be able to charge for it.
