Get 6,000 Points for Adding an AMEX Gold Supplementary Cardholder
If you hold an AMEX Preferred Rewards Gold Card (or you’re thinking of getting one), this is one for you! AMEX is offering 6,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when you add your first supplementary cardholder before 21st May. This is up from the usual 3,000 points.
Adding a supplementary cardholder is completely free. You’ll share one account with the supplementary cardholder, and all rewards earned from additional card spending will go into your primary account.
To add a supplementary cardholder, go to this page and click Add a cardmember. Log in to your account and complete and submit your application.
Adding a supplementary cardholder has plenty of benefits, such as making it easier to reach the spending threshold and allowing each person to sign up for cashback deals and offers.
If you’re thinking of signing up for an AMEX Preferred Rewards Gold card, there’s a great offer running at the moment. You can read more about the card in our AMEX Gold guide.
If you haven’t yet added a supplementary cardholder to your account, now’s the best time to do it. 6,000 Membership Rewards points can be converted into things like 6,000 Avios or Virgin Points.
Remember, you will only get the bonus until 21st May. This offer has run before (the last time was October), but we can’t guarantee it will run again.

Triple Aeroplan Points on Transatlantic Routes from the UK with Air Canada
Air Canada has just launched a tempting new Aeroplan promotion. You can now get triple points on transatlantic round-trip or two-way bookings made before 30th May.
All you need to do is register in advance via your Aeroplan account — no registration, no bonus. Register for the promotion here.
The offer applies to new bookings only, so any previously made bookings won’t qualify. To be eligible to receive the bonus Aeroplan points, you must provide your Aeroplan number at the time of purchase.
Flights must be completed by 15th December 2025, and most fare types are included, except Basic Economy.
Air Canada operates from London Heathrow, Manchester, and Edinburgh, offering over 75 weekly departures. Direct routes include Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Halifax, and Ottawa. You can connect from Air Canada’s hubs (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) to more than 40 destinations in the US and onward international routes such as Cancún.
When flying via Canada to the US, you will get US customs preclearance so you can arrive in the US as a domestic passenger.
Look at the flight reward chart and triple to see how many points you could earn. Triple points can go a long way. Economy redemptions start at 6,000 for one-way flights in North America or 7,500 in Europe via partner airlines in the Star Alliance. You can use the points predictor to see how many points you may need for a redemption.

Lufthansa Launches a UK American Express Cashback Deal
Lufthansa launched a UK AMEX cashback deal for the first time in years. If eligible, you will get £300 back when you spend £2,500 or more on the Lufthansa website by 30th May 2025.
This is a targeted offer, so you must check your card account to see if it’s been added. Not many people have reported seeing the offer, but it’s worth looking at if you plan to book a Lufthansa flight.
Remember to save the offer to your AMEX card to be eligible for cashback. You can do this via the app or online.
Spend is cumulative, which helps if you plan a multi-trip booking or travel as a couple or group.
It’s worth noting that the terms do not state whether the offer is just for Lufthansa itself or whether it includes Lufthansa Group airlines like SWISS and Brussels Airlines. If you’re considering using this offer on a Lufthansa Group carrier, proceed with caution, but most likely any Lufthansa Group booking made on the Lufthansa website will be fine. It’s also unclear whether your flight needs to depart from the UK, but the most likely answer is that it does.
This isn’t a great offer due to the high spend threshold, but if you were planning to book £2,500 or more in the next few weeks, £300 off is a good bonus!

£300 Back on United Flights with AMEX
United is also offering an even better cashback deal. This offer is available on most AMEX cards, except British Airways-branded ones.
The spend threshold is much lower. You will get £300 off when you spend £700 with United Airlines. The flight must depart from the UK and be booked by 8th August for any date.
If you’re interested in this offer, be quick. It’s only open to 30,000 cards.
United flies from Heathrow and Edinburgh to destinations such as New York, Newark, Washington Dulles, Chicago, and Houston.
It’s not quite as generous as the previous £350 off £700 deal, but still excellent value.
Things to note
- Cumulative spend is also eligible for this offer.
- You must book online, not on the phone.
