BLACK FRIDAY 2017: Qatar Airways sale & Etihad miles bonus

qatar business class sale

As I predicted, Qatar Airways have decided to run a Black Friday sale even though their last sale has only just finished. Overall it is a pretty disappointing sale and if you don’t need to book I would probably wait apart from the Kuala Lumpur fare. The South African ones are reasonable value too. The next major sale is in January for Qatar which normally has some of the best fares of the year.

Unsurprisingly the only real bargains are Ex Eu. If you haven’t considered this before you can read my beginners guide here. Remember you can earn tier points and Avios with Qatar too. As flights are indirect to everywhere other than Qatar, you will get more tier points and Avios than flying direct with BA in most cases. If you decide to take this option you should consider the following: time and price to get to the starting point, aircraft type from starting point and tier points. Some of the Eastern Europe destinations use smaller aircraft and give fewer tier points.

You won’t get to experience the new business class seats, the QSuite, on the ex EU routes below but it is worth looking at coming back to Paris. Paris has the Qsuites on one flight a day and sometimes this only adds around £100 to the price.

Etihad miles boost

Etihad first class apartment review

Etihad first class apartment

If you are saving Etihad miles and need some more there are 20% bonus miles if you purchase more than 5,000 miles before 6 December. You can purchase up to 100,000 Etihad Guest Miles every year. Etihad is also an Amex Membership Rewards partner. I recently flew in the amazing Etihad First Apartment which I booked for 87,000 miles using Amex points and buying miles. Remember, if you get to 75% of the miles needed, Etihad will let you book and buy the remaining miles very cheaply during the booking process. So only buy 75% of the miles initially you need if you use this promotion.
