Eurowings New Premium BIZ Seats

Eurowings has announced it will introduce new premium seating on its Airbus A320neo fleet for select routes – mainly medium-haul routes of 3-6 hours.
The Premium BIZ part of the cabin will be much more spacious with 8 seats. Interestingly, Eurowings has gone for a 2-2 layout rather than the 3-3, with a blocked middle seat you usually see on European Business class flights.
The concept was first tested in November 2025 on the Berlin-Dubai route, with a second aircraft later used on additional routes as part of a market trial. Eurowings says passenger feedback was overwhelmingly positive, especially the improved personal space and service.
Premium BIZclass will now feature on more routes. These are likely to include business-heavy destinations such as London, as well as leisure routes with high premium demand, such as Mallorca and the Canary Islands. Eurowings now has two ‘Business’ options. They still have BIZclass, which is your standard European Business class with a blocked middle seat.
The Premium BIZ seat is a Comoda model from Italian manufacturer Geven and is ergonomically designed. As well as a wider seat, you can expect an adjustable footrest with nearly a metre of legroom, USB charging ports, a pillow and blanket, and an amenity kit. There’s also much better service with an aperitif, a hot meal served on porcelain and a larger drinks selection.
The ‘Biz’ concept is an interesting addition to Eurowings, while most low-cost airlines are focusing on density. It’s somewhat similar to domestic First Class on some North American airlines, where you’ll have a larger recliner seat.
Remember, Eurowings is part of the Lufthansa Group so that you can enjoy status benefits as a Miles & More elite status holder.
Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings, said;
“We are boldly changing an industry standard because our guests’ expectations are changing as well. The success of our market tests made it clear within just a few months that many passengers on longer flights want a bit more space and affordable comfort. With the introduction of the Premium BIZ seat, we are emphasizing our role as Europe’s value airline, offering good service at fair prices across all fare categories.”
Flying Blue to Simplify Miles Expiry Rules

From 4th May 2026, Flying Blue, the loyalty programme of Air France and KLM, will move to a simpler system where any qualifying earning activity extends your entire miles balance.
At the moment, there’s a confusing system in which miles earned from flights and those earned through other means expire on different dates, which is far from intuitive. It’s surprisingly easy to lose miles without realising.
From 4th May, any qualifying earning activity, whether that is a flight, hotel stay, car rental or partner transaction, will extend the validity of your whole balance by 24 months. All miles will share a single expiry date.
Existing balances will also be updated when the new system launches, with Flying Blue applying the most favourable validity period across your miles.
Elite members, including Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Flying Blue Extra subscription holders, already benefit from miles that do not expire while their status remains active.
This is a sensible change and long overdue. Just keep in mind that miles due to expire before 4th May 2026 will still fall under the current rules,
