Oman Air Joins Oneworld
After nearly three years in the pipeline, Oman Air has officially joined the Oneworld alliance as its 15th full member.
Oman Air joins Royal Jordanian and Qatar Airways as the third Middle Eastern airline to be part of the alliance.
Nat Pieper, CEO of Oneworld, said:
“We are proud to welcome Oman Air to the Oneworld family. Oman Air brings valuable strategic reach and award-winning product and service to the alliance. This partnership opens up exciting new connections for our customers, particularly across the Gulf and South Asia, and reinforces Oneworld’s position as the premium alliance for international travellers.”
Founded in 1993, Oman Air is the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, operating from its hub in Muscat. It flies to 42 destinations across 22 countries, with a fleet of Boeing 737s and 787 Dreamliners, which feature 2 and 3 class cabins.
The airline is especially known for its Business Studio Private Suites and serves 5 Oneworld hubs: Amman, Colombo, Doha, Kuala Lumpur and London Heathrow. There is currently 1 daily flight between Heathrow and Muscat, with this set to increase to 11 flights per week from 27th October 2025, and up to 14 flights per week by summer 2026.
Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air, commented:
“Oman Air is honoured to be joining the Oneworld alliance, whose members and global footprint represent the best of what international travellers want to experience. We are thrilled to be able to welcome Oneworld customers to the Sultanate of Oman to experience our unique culture, stunning mountain excursions, beautiful beaches, and, above all, the warm hospitality of the Omani people.”

Redemptions
As of tomorrow, you can book redemption flights with Oman Air. I recommend doing it sooner rather than later. There will be plenty of availability, but that will rapidly run out. However, you can book redemption flights via Qatar Airways today!

Turkish Airlines: Fly Across 6 Continents – Earn 1 Million Miles!
Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles has just launched an eye-catching new promotion. Earn a staggering 1 million bonus miles by flying to six continents with Turkish Airlines. All flights must be completed by 27th October 2025, giving you just under 4 months.
There are plenty of rules you need to follow. If you’re thinking of completing the challenge, make sure you read them carefully:
-
Eligible flights must either originate from or transit through Türkiye. For example, a flight from Singapore to Melbourne would not be eligible.
-
Only arrival destinations count toward completing the required continents; for example, a flight from New York to Istanbul to Tokyo will only count as Asia.
-
Flights must be registered to your Miles&Smiles account before travel. This is one of the main caveats. If you’re already a Star Alliance status holder, you won’t be able to use your status here unless you have Turkish Airlines status.
- Flights do not count if they are award tickets. Other fares that don’t count include Corporate tickets, group tickets, staff tickets, special segment tickets (e.g., student tickets). If you use a discount code, your flight will not count!
-
Codeshare flights are not eligible, even if booked with a Turkish Airlines flight number.
- You must book direct through Turkish Airlines, its sales offices, or authorised travel agencies
-
The Miles awarded under this campaign are not Status Miles and cannot be used toward membership tier upgrades.
- Remember, only your outbound journey from Istanbul counts toward the challenge. Although this does mean your return can be on another airline or even a redemption booking.
If you complete the challenge, your miles will be credited between 1st November and 15th November 2025, and you’ll be a points millionaire!
Completing the Challenge
You’ll need to book flights from Istanbul to one country in each of the following continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Oceania. The first 4 are relatively easy with plenty of route options and competitive fares. South America and Australia will be trickier, with fewer routes and higher prices.
Here are the countries you could fly to:
Of course, there are countries on this list where you shouldn’t travel at the moment, but I’ve included them all for reference.
Europe: Germany, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, United Kingdom, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Croatia, Netherlands, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Montenegro, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia and Greece.
- London would be the obvious choice in Europe as a destination for a return flight from Istanbul after a trip.
- There are also some great prices to Budapest, Skopje, Pristina and Sofia.
North America: USA, Canada, Cuba, Mexico and Panama
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Venezuela
Asia: Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, China, Indonesia, Philippines, South Korea, India, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Maldives, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Oman, Jordan and Vietnam.
- Picking the shortest routes will usually work out to be the best value for money (e.g. for the Asia segment, there are many destinations very near Istanbul, whereas others, such as Singapore, require a long flight).
- Kuwait and Georgia have some good fares.
Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Djibouti, Chad, Democratic Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, South Africa, South Sudan, Cameroon, Kenya, Congo, Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Egypt, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia.
- Cairo has some of the best prices
Oceania: Australia
- Australia is a long flight, but it’s a must to complete the challenge. I recommend booking this one first to find the cheapest fare.
- The only flight options are Sydney and Melbourne. Sydney usually has the cheapest fares.
There have been plenty of people sharing route ideas on Facebook groups and Frequent Flyer forums – perfect for getting some ideas, especially if you’re looking to complete this challenge in the cheapest way possible. Many people have been able to find all six flights for under £3,000 in Economy.
1 Million Miles!
For each of the 6 continents, you’re essentially earning 166,666 miles, many more than you would earn without completing the challenge. The flights would cost you well under the value of the miles earned, so it’s worth doing if you have the time available and the budget to book 6 flights in the next 4 months.
If you’re interested in promos like this, JetBlue is also running a similar challenge. A great past challenge was the SAS challenge. You can read our article featuring an interview with two of the participants here.
