Tomorrow I will be looking at some of the best flight deals for late 2020 and 2021 at the moment. In the meantime, the city of New York have come up with ways to enjoy the city virtually. If you visit NYC The Official guide, there are a number of virtual events to attend and sites to see. From bar sing a longs, Broadway shows and beach webcams to history lessons and museum tours, there is plenty to whet your appetite and cure lockdown boredom!

Emirates to receive government bailout

As I would expect, the Middle East governments are coming to the aid of their airlines after Emirates grounded almost all it’s flights. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai, said that they would be providing financial support to the airline in this “critical time”. As yet we don’t know the full details. It will be interesting to see what happens to Etihad, the Abu Dhabi based airline who have been in financial difficulties for some time. This follows a string of disastrous investments such as Air Berlin and Alitalia.

Singapore Airlines generous offer to extend status

Singapore has been reluctant to give status concessions to its KrisFlyer Elite members, but has finally come forward with what I think is a generous offer.

In appreciation for their members’ loyalty, they are offering

Renewing KrisFlyer Elite Silver and Gold membership for one membership year.
Extending Elite Gold Rewards that will be expiring between July and December 2020 to be valid till 31 March 2021.

This applies to members with membership year ending in March 2020 through to February 2021.
