New British Airways sale – what are the best deals?
The British Airways and British Airways Holidays summer sale has launched for bookings until 11 July 2024, The Original Sale includes both flights and holiday packages to beach and city destinations.
The sale is pretty weak in my opinion. For long haul, I’d expect US prices to be below £1600 for East Coast and they are not. Your best bet is to fly from Dublin where you can save a few hundred pounds per person up to £1000 per person on US flights. Doha is not bad at £1598 and you could use Avios to connect onwards from there.

Virgin Atlantic 40% off points for flight redemptions
To celebrate Virgin Atlantic’s 40th anniversary this weekend, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Red have teamed up to offer a 40% reduction in the points price when members buy any Virgin Atlantic reward seat between Friday, 21 June, and Monday, 24 June 2024, for travel throughout 2024. There is no reduction in the taxes and charges you have to pay which can be close to £1000 per person in Upper Class. You can also find details of their cash sale here.
All Virgin Atlantic routes are included in the sale and the sale is applicable to Economy, Premium and Upper Class reward seat bookings, as well as upgrades booked during the offer period.
To book, head over to the Virgin Atlantic website, where you can choose your destination and travel dates. Select ‘Show Price in Points’ under the ‘Advanced search’ followed by your desired cabin – either Economy, Premium or Upper Class.
