OFFERS: American Express Members week – what’s it all about?

  • 12/10/2023
  • Michele

Hot on the heels of their announcement to raise credit card annual fees, American Express has today launched Member Week for the first time in the UK, which will see seven days of special, limited-time deals and experiences for all eligible Amex Consumer and Business Cardmembers in the UK.

Running from 16 October 2023 through to 22 October 2023, Cardmembers will get a week of travel deals and dining offers as well as a variety of shopping and entertainment rewards and competitions across music, sport and theatre, for being with Amex.

Some of the offers are competitions but the travel offers are definitely worth using. Amex Travel can be used to book flights and hotels, often at better rates than elsewhere.

The offers aren’t available until next week, but I thought it was worth highlighting in case you had any travel purchases planned and wanted to wait to get the offers.

Entertainment

Throughout Member Week, card members can enter a range of competitions to win tickets to events with Amex. Prizes include tickets to see British rapper Little Simz at Alexandra Palace, Amex Gold Unsigned – a celebration of up-and-coming artists – at The Dome, Tufnell Park in November, and Skate at Somerset House with Switzerland Tourism in December.

Looking ahead to next year, members can also enter for a chance to win access to events within the American Express Experiences® programme, including tickets to watch Brighton & Hove Albion at the American Express Stadium, The Championships, Wimbledon, Somerset House Summer Series with American Express, American Express presents BST Hyde Park, All Points East, and the National Theatre.

When spending £300 with American Express Travel, Cardmembers will get £75 back, as well as special offers at Fine Hotels + Resorts (for Platinum Cardmembers) and The Hotel Collection (for Platinum and Gold Cardmembers), with a complimentary night or property credit available at more than 100 hotels when booking through Amex Travel.

Member Week celebrations also include savings on fares with select airlines. Platinum Cardmembers and Centurion members can access additional savings on top of their International Airline Program discounts on premium travel when booking with Air Europa, Emirates, Etihad Airways, jetBlue, Virgin Atlantic and Delta. Eligible Cardmembers can also access savings on Amex Value Fares when booking with Air Europa, Emirates, Etihad Airways, jetBlue, Virgin Atlantic and Delta.

Shopping & Retail, and bonus points

During Member Week, 300 prizes of 30,000 Membership Rewards® points are available to be won. Every time a Cardmember uses the Pay with Points function (covering the cost of an item on their statement using points) from 16 October – 22 October, they will be entered into a prize draw to win 30,000 points, in celebration of both Member Week and the 30th anniversary of the Membership Rewards® programme in the UK.

An exclusive Offer with Bose is also available, with 25% off up to £50 in online purchases.

Dining

Running throughout Member Week until 19 November, Cardmembers can dine out with Amex at selected participating venues and enjoy 10% off their bill at over 1,500 locations. From Bill’s and Honest Burger to Yo! Sushi and Gaucho, these are similar to the offer that was running recently.

Member Week offers, rewards and competitions are available to all eligible Consumer and Business Cardmembers in the UK. For more information and to explore the deals and experiences on offer throughout Member Week, please visit https://americanexpress.com/en-gb/benefits/member-week/.
