Spring is one of the most popular seasons for a getaway, and for good reason. After the long, dark winter months, people crave sunshine, colour, and a change of scenery. Whether it’s exploring cities in comfortable temperatures, enjoying nature at its most vibrant, or simply taking a refreshing break before the busy summer period, spring holidays deliver that perfect mix of renewal, relaxation, and great travel conditions. Here are some of the best reward seat availability to get you there with Avios, courtesy of Reward Flight Finder:

Short-Haul

London Heathrow – Billund, Denmark

Home of LEGOLAND Billund Resort, one of Europe’s best theme parks, packed with rides, shows, and impressively detailed LEGO worlds. You’ll find loads of availability in Economy and Business Class from March to June, with many days having 6 Economy seats and 4 Business Class seats to book.

London Heathrow – Cairo, Egypt

A place where ancient wonders, year-round sunshine, and relaxing beach escapes all come together. BA reward seat availability is excellent between March and June, with lots of days with 6 seats in each cabin to secure with Avios.

London City, Heathrow, Stansted – Florence, Italy

Florence isn’t just a museum city. Its cobblestone streets, sun-drenched piazzas, and riverside views create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and magical. There’s still some decent availability across March to June – some days have 4 Economy and 2 Business.

London Gatwick – Gran Canaria, Canary Islands

Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking in the island’s volcanic interior, cycling scenic routes, and exploring hidden gorges. Families love the island for its safe, sunny climate year-round, water parks, and easy-to-reach resorts. Although it’s getting booked up quickly, there’s availability in both cabins between March and June, with a few days having 4 Economy seats and 2 Business Class to book with Avios.

London City, Gatwick, Heathrow – Palma, Mallorca

Palma de Mallorca

Visitors love Palma for its blend of relaxation and activity: you can wander through art galleries and museums, enjoy tapas at charming plazas, or soak up the sun on nearby beaches like Playa de Palma and Cala Mayor. Availability is currently excellent between March and June, with many days having 6 seats in each cabin to book with points.

Long-Haul

London Heathrow – Doha, Qatar

Waterfront in Doha

With modern infrastructure, luxurious resorts, and unique cultural experiences, Doha is ideal for travellers looking for a sophisticated city break. At the moment, reward seat availability is great between March and June, with lots of days having 6 Premium Economy and 2 Business Class seats.

London Heathrow – Chennai, India

Known for its rich heritage, colorful festivals, and bustling markets, Chennai offers an authentic Indian city experience with a unique southern flavor. There’s good availability in Premium Economy between March and May, with quite a good chunk of days having 2 seats to book with Avios. There’s Business Class availability between April and June, with a lot of days having 4 seats to book with Avios.

London Heathrow – Johannesburg, South Africa

Johannesburg is a dynamic holiday destination that blends history, culture, and adventure. Visitors are drawn to its rich heritage, from the compelling stories at the Apartheid Museum and Constitution Hill to the vibrant streets of Maboneng Precinct, full of art, cafés, and markets. You’ll see Business Class availability from March to June, with days having 4 seats.

London Heathrow – Nassau, Bahamas

The Bahamas offers luxury resorts, charming local culture, and exciting water sports, from sailing and kayaking to deep-sea fishing. There’s some Premium Economy availability in March, with a few days having 3 seats, and a patch of Business Class availability, with some days having 4 seats in each cabin.

London Heathrow – San Francisco, US

BA club world sale

San Francisco is a vibrant city that combines stunning scenery, iconic landmarks, and a unique cultural vibe. There’s Premium Economy between March and May, with a good selection of days having 2 – 4 seats to book with Avios. There’s Business Class availability in March, with a lot of days having 6 premium seats to book with your points.

I had read previously that they just pinch the data from Seat Spy, as revealed by an investigation in a couple of websites. Trust that is no longer the case?

Why have BA stopped allowing you to book specific seats as part of purchase process? Why is the front row of business class in short haul ALWAYS fully booked? Using Avios for short haul is a complete waste of time for anyone seeking extra legroom, a spare middle seat does VERY little to help if you are tall. My first priority when booking a flight is to ensure extra legroom, Avios points have become worthless in my opinion.

BA reserve the front row for Gold status members.

These are for Gold members but just keep checking as they sometimes open the front row at the last minute
