If this warm weather is making you consider spending Christmas and New Year in hotter climes, it’s never too early to start planning your next Avios trip. Here’s some of the best reward seat availability for British Airways and Iberia over the festive season. Take a look with Reward Flight Finder:
SHORT HAUL
London City, Heathrow – Berlin, with British Airways

One of the most traditionally festive Christmas spots we can think of. There’s a decent stretch of Economy and Business Class availability across Christmas and New Year. Lots of days have 6 seats in Economy and 6 seats in Business to bag with points.
London Gatwick, Heathrow – Larnaca, with British Airways
It looks like there was a recent release on this route. Most days across December and January have loads of availability in both Economy (6 seats) and Business Class (4 seats).
London City, Gatwick, and Heathrow – Madrid, with Iberia

Another route with an abundance of availability in both cabins across December and January. You’ll see lots of days with 4 seats in Economy and 4 seats in Business. This route also less Avios than BA, so you can squeeze some extra value here.
London Heathrow – Paris, with British Airways
If Christmas and New Year in the City of Lights sounds like your kind of vibe, head straight to RFF right now where you’ll see loads of dates with 6 seats in Economy and 6 seats in Business Class.
London Heathrow – Tirana, with British Airways

There are some lovely patches of reward seat availability in Economy and Business Class across December 2026 and January 2027, with days having 6 seats in each cabin to book using your Avios.
London Heathrow – Vienna, with British Airways
Another traditional festive destination with a huge amount of seats in both Economy and Business Class right across Yuletide. Most days have 6 Economy and 4 Business Class seats to book with your Avios balance.
LONG HAUL
London Heathrow – Chennai, with British Airways

At the moment there a few days outbound in both December and January with 2 Business Class seats. Inbound fares better, with a decent number of days having 4 premium seats to snap up with Avios.
London Heathrow- Kuala Lumpur, with British Airways
Business Class reward seats are currently available on both legs in December 2026 – some days have 3 seats to book with points. For Premium Economy, there are a few days in December where you can get 3 seats. Set RFF Alerts for your best chance to snap those up if BA release any more.
London Gatwick, Heathrow – New York, with British Airways

Winter in New York is a bucket list experience for many. If that includes you, you’ll see lots of Premium Economy availability over December and January, with days having 4 seats. Business Class availability is also really strong, with loads of days having 4 seats.
London Heathrow – Singapore, British Airways
Premium Economy reward seats are available to book at the start of December 2026 and from mid January 2027 both ways. Days have up to 4 seats. Business Class travellers should look at the end of December 2026 and the end of January 2027.
London Gatwick – Tobago, with British Airways

Right now it’s looking very booked up, but there are a few days with 3 Premium Economy reward seats and 2 in Business Class in December 2026.
