Today BA introduces their new Club Europe catering which hopefully will improve things. There are several positive steps with no more paninis, the return of scones and better wines. I will look at what you can expect from each meal service with examples and also which routes will be in which bands. We will be reviewing band 1 and 2 destinations from Gatwick this month and Heathrow next month.
If you are flying in the next few weeks and would like to see your photo of your Club Europe meal featured on Turning Left for Less please contact us using the contact us page or through social media.

I’m scheduled to do a HEL run via ABZ in just under two weeks time so will see if I can get any good snaps/reviews of Band 1: brunch; afternoon tea; lunch and dinner, and Band 3: dinner and breakfast. Ask me nicely I may chuck in a review of the newly refurbished ABZ BA Lounge while I’m at it 😉
Pretty please? ? That would be great thanks Tom. I only have bands 1 & 2 until December at the moment.
Hi Michele,
A couple of questions :-
1. Is this being rolled out gradually, or happening immediately ???
We are travelling Edinburgh to Gatwick on Friday (en route to Brighton), so hopefully will get to try it.
2. Are the timings you mention above (for which meal you will get) based on when you actually eat, or do they relate to scheduled take off time ???
Looking forward to meeting up on Saturday – is this now fixed for 5.30 pm ???
Hi. Immediately as far as I know and it is based on departure time. The timing for Saturday is to arrive by 5.30pm at the latest to ride at 6pm.
I have subsequently seen that Gatwick may not be immediate but the menus have been released for Gatwick which suggests it will be this month.
What band is Moscow DME? I fly BA LHR-DME regularly and have never understood the service..
DME is club world not club Europe. Thanks!
Hi Michele,
Band 4 Rest of the Day from Istanbul this afternoon / evening.
Glass of Castelnau – nice as usual;
Starter of crunchy crudités and hummus which was a really pleasant surprise – no soggy or soft veg and great hummus;
Hot rice with prawns and spinach – good flavour;
Cheese a bit rubbery;
Chocolate pudding that I couldn’t manage.
I have pictures if you’d like them!
Athens next.
Thanks Will. Feel free to send in the pics. I will be doing a full guide to CE catering so the more photos the better.
